True, he did look better than the previous 2 years. Wonder what we get this year again.

Signings seem pretty good so far. A lot of good players but doesn’t looks like any outlandish contracts.

Add on that you added Moore ON contract for 3 years and Poles is doing real well this offseason IMO

Bet we sign a mid level edge rusher and a nose tackle and then see what’s in the draft

Being that the whole DL needed upgraded I can see him signing 3 dudes on the DL and still drafting DL at 9 or after a trade down.

About 45 NW of Dayton, middle of nowhere. Work with his family.

I don’t really offer anything of substance to the board nor am I the smartest tool in the shed, I should probably do more reading than posting honestly, thanks for the constructive criticism.

What I’m really liking about the moves so far:

    Moore: 25
    Edmunds: 24
    Edwards: 26
    Davis: 26

It’s clear they’re targeting younger guys that will still be in their primes along with Justin.

Doesn’t include the Nate Davis signing but does include the rest. Still have the most cap space in the league. F9E6619F-1714-4DB4-B0D4-3610A12DAA16.jpeg

I really like mcglinchey as a player and wish the bears could have ponied up a bit more (I like Braxton Jones more than post) but otherwise Poles is killing it

Striking out at OT in FA puts pressure on finding one in the draft and I think it would be a mistake to pass on Carter to draft Paris Johnson

They still have enough room to add OBJ, Jones (both 26), and a good edge if they wanted to.

Poles waiting while Orlando Brown, Jones, McGrady make it through the initial FA rush and their price cools off is some smart ass thinking.

Hard fucking pass on OBJ, he’s the last guy we need in Fields ear.

    Just a quick google search….

6’4” 280 is a big ass dude. Must be the strong side end I guess? Must be the Alex Brown of the line, still gonna need an Ogunleye rush end, unless Poles is confident Gipson or the kid from Miami is that guy.

With the Davis signing who’s out? Jenkins, Whitehair, or Patrick?

Seemed like Jenkins showed the most promise but injuries and off field issues probably have him in the dog house? Will Jenkins be the 3rd guard?

I think whitehair isn’t going to be on the team next year. Too big of a cap hit for a back up guard. I think they’re going to draft a guard at some point on day 3 or possibly day 2 if they move back.

Still think the bears will try to add a NT today. Would be surprised if there are any more big signings in the first wave of free agency.

The only thing that worries me is us making a dumb move for an edge guy, it’s so important for that cover 2 to have a stud rush end.

Where is OBJr going to go if not the Bears? Gotta be the favorite to land him, makes too much sense. Unless they know they're going Skoronski/Paris at 9 and think they can both play tackle.

Is Brown Jr a locker room issue or what? Not very often teams are so eager to move on from pro bowl tackles….kinda makes me pause.

With Fields contract and the draft capital, we can afford a couple of stupid deals tbf.

Disagree, Poles is doing a great job of building this thing brick by brick IMO, no need to throw up a quick modular home.

If a ridiculous contract is made it needs to be done on offense so there’s no questions about fields this time next year.

I think they’ll go Johnson at 9 and if he goes early or someone falls to them, they figure they can sign a Riley reif type in a cheap 1 year deal to get them through next season

What I mean is that I don’t have a problem spending money now.

To me the Bears were more a bottom third team in the league rather than the worst last year. If their record had matched performance, I don’t think people would have an issue with making a splash now.

I want to leave some flexibility next year but I think we have that already with the draft capital.

Reality is that rookie contracts are a time to take some chances on skill position contracts.

I’m not sure on OBJ just because of his injury status and his personality, not because I don’t want us to spend money.
