Bears are going to have the full contingent in Columbus for their pro-day next week. Handful of names to keep a close eye on there: OT Paris Johnson (1st) OT Dawand Jones (1st-3rd) OC Luke Wypler (2nd-4th) DE Zach Harrison (3rd-4th) As of today my prediction for the 9th pick is Broderick Jones.
Already questions about his conditioning coming into the draft process, and now he can’t be ready for the one thing he needs to be ready for. Has bust written all over him
He's still my dude at 1.9 My options would be... 1) Take Carter at 9 2) Trade down and pick up another top 50 pick 3) Take a OT (prefer the kid from UGA)
I don't understand this boom or bust narrative. He was the #1 prospect in this draft till the news leaked about the car incident and it looks like that is now behind him. He was the best player on that UGA line two years ago and he was very good this year playing with an injury.
he was out of shape for the national semi, he showed up out of shape for his pro day, basically played as a rotational player in college, lack of production, I think it’s totally fair to question his motivation and his production when he can’t physically overpower the guy standing across from him. Also obviously a lack of judgement poles said they want guys that love football, are we sure he loves football? He hasn’t shown it lately.
lol... buddy please point to a power house program where DL aren't in a rotation. Somehow playing on a DL with 6 NFL players is a knock. Hey I won't be changing the narrative you bought into... Carter is going to be great. He's the best player in this class. Being a fucking idiot and drag racing is a major concern and valid criticism. The rest is silly shit imho.
carter has never played 400 snaps in a season. He played 52 against OSU which was his career high and was winded and a ghost. There were 200 interior lineman that played more than 400 snaps last year. It’s absolutely valid to ask if he’s going to have the gas to make the splash plays he makes when he’s getting 700 snaps in a season
Maybe I’m under thinking it, but I’m going to pass on drafting a guy in the top 10 that didn’t produce great stats in college and has off the field concerns. Tbh I never really understood the hype in the first place, he didn’t flash during any of Georgia’s playoff games (admittedly the only ones I’ve watched the last two years).
he had really cool highlights though. Did you see the time he picked up the qb and got 33% of his season sacks?
Title game… semi finals against one of the best IOL prospects and he’s doing this as a “out of shape” prospect. You people need to stop
awesome play on that thirty yard completion by Ohio state carter had 3 tackles total in those games. Congrats on showing 33% of his tackles which was a 3 yard gain
Matt Jones is in no way shape or form “one of the best IOL prospects”. He was the worst OL on the team by a good margin last year, is coming back for a 5th year because he wasn’t going to be drafted, and won’t be drafted next year either.
1 year 3 mil for fonts foreman is solid Bears are signing former Panthers’ RB Donta Foreman to a 1-year, $3 million deal, per source.
All on 1 year deals too. Just looked and we’re going to have over $120 million of cap space next year as well, and 2 1st rd picks.
Ehhh I’m not sure I’d lock up anyone other than Jaylon Johnson for the longer term. Probably just pick up everyone else’s options for another year which really is only Kmet right?
