Not sure I agree with Poles giving Kmet an extension before year 3, I could see next summer if he shows more this year. Edit: oh shit this is year 4, franchise the dude before you extend him 3 years with what he’s shown.
1st round picks you get for 4 years with a 5 year option. 2nd round picks you don’t get that 5th year
JJ is probably the only one that’s worth and extension now. The rest need to show and prove this season before I sit down with them. All have huge question marks on what they are on a good team.
Also I’m a big Justin Fields fan and believe in him but we’re set up to either build around him (Harrison Jr) if he improves this season with talent around him or replace (Williams, Maye) if he struggles. It’s all on Justin this season.
And still have the most cap space and a ton of space next season as well. I think I like this Poles guy, he’s like the anti-Pace. Not as exciting but the smart way to build long term.
All this talent and we probably aren't a playoff contender just yet. Shows you what a shit roster we had last season.
They could still draft him at 9 if they like him. Claypool or Mooney shouldn't prevent you from upgrading. And I believe he's a massive upgrade over both
Someone mentioned how much cap we still have. looks like we will be adding more talent in the next few weeks
I think you see him taken on day 2. I would love him in Chicago. Size, Speed and Athleticism. His film is outstanding.
That’s the right move IMO. I would hold off until draft day and see who is there at 9 and have trades ready depending on who is there.
Agreed, If there isn't a real difference maker @ #9 in what they need then trade down if they get a decent offer. Keep picking up picks to rebuild the roster. Package them together to move up next year if need be.
Paris Johnson is the only guy I want at 9 Roderick Jones can probably be had a few picks later But I’m tired of the OL being shit after a decade of journeymen OTs
That may be true I just happen to prefer Johnson over Jones, and don’t think Skoronski is worth a pick that high. If Poles goes another offseason without getting a tackle that can be relied upon the bears will regret it
As a Michigan/Bears fan the fact that Michigan is currently back to beating them will smooth over the Buckeye infusion.
Most post combine mocks seem to think he'll be gone by then. Not sure if that's any info or if it's just conjecture.
Ownership fucking stinks It was obvious he was selling the future to save his ass. They shouldn't have allowed that.
