4/88 get it done? I’d be happy with that. Don’t think we can add Hunter or a Tier 1 DE as well though. 25/ @ DE, 22/ @ DT, 19/ @ CB, 18/ @ LB. That’s a lot of money on that side of the ball. I wonder how much a Floyd or Clowney will get on a 1/2 yr deal?
Depends on the price If it's 2 mil or less, I would be ok with taking a chance on a bounce back season. And worst case he's basically a player/coach
I’m guessing they don’t spend much on the safety vacancy, but given the amount of guys on the market they should be able to find a younger option
So Jones is getting 5/160ish. All of which will be played on the wrong side of 30. Glad we’re avoiding that. Give Wilkins 4/90. I’d love to add Hunter as well but I think they’ll need to go after a tier 2 edge if they get Wilkins.
Asked my philly friend about Byard. Basically said he's lost a step but he still can be an elite player--just didn't live up to expectations in Philly. Seems medium risk high reward to me? Not the direction I would go in, but Poles doesn't really do anything I like outside of the Panthers trade last year.
Russ to Pitt. Need Minn to resign Kirk so Atl is left with no options but Justin. That Ben Devine guy on twitter said his “sources” say they already have a trade agreed to if Atl misses on Kirk/Russ/Baker.(he only has 7K followers so doubt he has sources)
Unrelated to how this involves Fields but I love how Cousins already knows who he's going to negotiate with but has to wait for a tampering window to open... as if he didn't already have communications to narrow his list to a team that's interested in him with the tampering window closed.
Outside of the Carolina trade, Poles has been a huge pile of shit. Hopefully things turn around, but I have very little faith that he's the guy to build a championship roster.
Not firing Eberflus when he could have had Harbaugh or Vrabel is going to drive me insane for a while
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39704677/source-bears-planning-new-stadium-south-soldier-field Happy with this, hopefully the fundies don’t nix it
that he’s a great pass catching back that does a lot of what Waldron wants and is an upgrade over Herbert who cannot pass block and is an inconsistent pass catcher
Really the options right now seem to be wait till the draft and if someone doesn’t get the QB they want make a deal. Or roster him and wait till someone pulls a Rodgers and is out for the season.
I wasn't expecting some crazy signings but at this point I'm just hoping we nail the draft. Still salty we signed a backup G/C and gave away a pick when the actual center he was backing up could have been had for free.
Burns getting 5/150. Sweats extension is looking real good with the numbers getting thrown out today.
Does overthecap keep itself accurate throughout the day? It’s showing $58 million still. Still need 3T, Edge, C, WR (x2), and uTE. Poles FA spending just seems off, the LBs last year, locking up S and RB before the bigger needs at more premium positions. It’s like he’s reverse moneyballing. In saying that. I do give credit for sticking with (mostly) mid 20 players. Hardly any money devoted to players age 30+ seasons. It’s also frustrating but they seem to stick to their value charts. I’m sure they could fit in Wilkins or Burns but would anyone be happy with those huge deals?
Curious if we get into the "B" level guys like a Javon Kinlaw, Mike Gesicki or Curtis Samuel to fill some of those needs. All are under the age of 30 and wont command big money. All fit needs.
