I don’t know if anyone will know if he’s a hit till year 2 tbqh. Especially with the lightning quick turnaround from draft to season start. Watching his progression will be fun.
It’s preseason but this team looks like it has leadership and coaching. might be able to make a run at the playoffs after all.
I think you need to linger on “it’s preseason” a little more. The Thunder traded half its starting line up over the last month and are actively trying to be the worst team in the league. They featured Justin Jackson, Theo Maledon, Isaiah Roby, Poku, and Frank Jackson in that game. You guys played your starters 20-30 minutes a pop.
Im worried he’s just going to waste all that talent being so passive. I’ve been laughing at people predicting the bulls making the playoffs the last few weeks. I think my biggest takeaway is they look like they are being coached and listening to that coach. Maybe they toy with a 7th or 8th seed because of it idk. Coby and Zach look legit early on.
Laurie confidence is shot. I think they'll have to move on. Zach is motivated and Coby still might end up as their best player after some coaching. The big are going to limit them though.
Yeah Wendell isn’t gonna be that guy either, they should see if they can package those 2 and Porter and see what it brings..
Like it or not that want him taking those. They also like him running the offense at times like Noah/Horford have done. It’s gonna have some highs and lows this year. Laurie decided to be aggressive tonight so that’s a positive.
I'm not sure how much coaching matters to elite teams, but it definitely affects young teams, and having possibly one of them worst NBA coaches ever and a really young team is the perfect example. They'll compete for the 8 seed if Boylen hasn't mentally broken Lauri and WCJ. At worst, Zach, Coby and Williams is a nice base while Gafford is a nice energy guy. Any other piece of this roster can be turned over.
Agree on Zach, Coby, Williams and Gafford being pieces you can move forward with. I think ultimately Billy’s job this season is to bring along Carter and Lauri. I think it’s more important then making the 8th or 7th seed because if you help them unlock the potential the results will be greater then 7th in the East. This is 100% a developmental year to figure out who sticks around and who’s traded in the offseason. I think guys like Porter, Young likely get moved at the deadline so moving them to the bench already is the wise and easy call.
We were excited when the shitty front office was removed which gave us a glimmer of hope things would get better. It’s gonna be a long journey. Said this in the NBA thread but it’s not just that the Bulls are bad, they don’t even have a single exciting player to build around that’s fun to watch.
White and LaVine could be that guy that’s exciting and fun to watch but they’re so inconsistent and play no defense....you can watch them but eventually they’re going to piss you off.
White sucks. He can’t score consistently and Levine is exciting at NBA All Star competitions. That’s about it.
White is also still super young. He's only 20 years old. He may only be Ben Gordon but you got to give him a few years to see if he can be more. I'm still pretty high on him. He's got to bulk a bit and finish better at the rim. Levine isn't who you build a franchise around. He's probably a #2 or #3 on a top team. I found it hilarious he took on the challenge to guard Young last night... the result was 37 points on 10 of 12 shooting. I could've guarded him better.
I envy OKC. Just get what you can and dona fulm rebuild. This team should challenge the Knicks for worst record.
Bulls are like the early 2000 blackhawks. People have forgot what real players look like so they overrate White and Lavine
I think White could be a Jamal Crawford like sixth man on a title team and Williams is the kind of stretch player the league values, but other than that there are no alphas on this team. They'd be better off shipping Lavine, Lauri, Young, Satoransky and WCJ if they have any value. Porter's contract has some value in think, and of the bench Archi, Gifford and maybe Temple (haven't seen much of him) are ok, but burn down the rest and start over.
That’s where I’m at, I’m willing to see if White is Crawford or Ben Gordonish, keep Pat cause he’s young as hell and he’s AK’s guy...trade the rest
If Lavine isn’t an all star it will be a travesty. Bulls need to finally acquire a second star and build around those two
Still think Lavine is the great scorer on a bad team guy. Dont think he's a first or second star on a good team He's putting up great #s tho
They’ve got Otto Porters expiring contract so they can make a move. I’d rather a big, but there aren’t many available at the deadline. I think they have pieces that make them more attractive than the past in FA.
Outside of Steph he’s the most efficient backcourt scorer in basketball. He isn’t scoring because he’s chucking
Otto is nothing Carter doesn't seem to be what Billy wants from a big and was benched. At least the 1st is top 3 protected Nikola is super talented and he and Lavine are going to be really fun in the pick/roll. Think Lonzo may be a bull soon.
KC said that the Pelicans want more than Lauri for Lonzo but AK is still working at getting something done. I think that's the last move to be made
The problem is the Pels don’t have any leverage, Ball is probably gonna sign with Chicago this offseason anyway.
AK pretty much tore the entire roster down in a year. Bet they let Lauri walk if he gets offer sheeted
Just asked if the plan is to flip him for a big? The roster is almost full and Vuc is literally the only big
