Pretty hard to overcome what they're missing right now. Not going to read too much into this stretch other than what we already knew before it, that they could use more front court help.
True but I also wonder if we’re not going to slide back to where we anticipated they were before the season started. Holding onto a top 3 spot in the East is going to be tough.
If healthy, which is a big if at this point, I doubt it. The defense is sparked by ball and Caruso. It's no surprise it's fallen off a cliff without those guys. Add in green and Jones as energy guys and this just isn't nearly representative of what we have. Ayo and Coby are bench guys and Demar needs Zach for spacing to go to work mid-range. Vooch is just lost right now, which has been a problem all season, so no clue if he ever gets back to form. Defense should rebound with health. Bench guys should go back to bringing energy. As constituted, they should still be able to hold on to top 4 if they can get some health luck.
Just looking at the standings, holy shit I didn’t realize shit bunched up like it did, we’re 2 games out of the 5th spot. I agree though that we need Alex and Zach back ASAP to keep in top half of the playoff teams, hopefully the Rumors of Pat coming back are true too.
And to play devils advocate we have lucked out in the health department, we were relatively healthy for months while catching teams short handed. Now the shoe is on the other foot and it may knock us back down to earth a little.
Yes and no. We're still top 3 in the league in minutes missed due to Covid even after having a few of the games postponed. At the end of the day, we're not the top team in the East, but we're definitely in the top half when at full strength.
what are we realistically expecting from Pat? I do believe he will return, especially after the NBA denied our exception
I think a guy that can we throw on elite scorers and slow them down some, that’s the only realistic outlook.
Just to follow up on this, the bucks are about to lose 6 of 8 and 4 of 5 mostly because jrue holiday is out. Shit happens when you're missing your key players.
It didn’t look good last night. Allen is a bitch and someone should legit beat his ass. Lonzo and Alex being out 2 months is gonna hurt.
It's super early but that dude isn't getting nearly enough love. He's probably the MVP of the NBA at this point
They have nothing to play for... doesn't make a difference between 5 or 6th seed. Also they really miss Lonzo Ball. Sucks that injuries derailed a good season. I didn't think we would get out the East but I felt we could make it into the 2nd round. Now... not happening. Will be very interesting what they do with Lavine given his history of knee problems. Do they think about moving Vouch in a larger move? I doubt this team is coming back as is next season.
Sign and Trade is an option. I almost feel like it would be amazing to sell high on Demar. So many different ways they can shake up this roster. I'm looking forward to the offseason
Unfortunately Billy has to just play Pat in trail by fire, Vuc shouldn’t be your 2nd option when Demar and Zach are struggling. Pat has to become a top 3 player on this team or find out he isn’t, there’s no in between.
Under 1 minute to go and we’ve got Vuc taking shots and Zach firing up shots from the logo. Wasted a great defensive showing in the 2nd half.
Team really has missed Ball. The offense is so bad, defense is missing his talent as well. pretty surprising that our big three shot like shit and we still had a chance. Thought we lose in 6. Probably now 5.
He's averaged 62 games played a season over the last 4 years... That's not really injury prone. I do agree that signing someone with a history of knee problems to a huge contract makes me worried.
Its not 20... Covid impacted two seasons. It's half that amount. In the era of resting top players... only missing 10 a season isn't all that bad.
Anytime Donovan wants to figure out giving the Bucks nothing but wide open 3’s doesn’t work would be great
I think we will see significant roster movement in the off-season. I would hope AK will bring in more toughness. I get it's not the 90's but this team is soft, I'm not saying we should be looking to break a bone but the fact that Grayson is untouch after that dirty fucking play that broke Alex's wrist and now we got Porter out here trying to son Lavine... not good. Happy to see a little fight out of Lavine.
This isn't anything new. KC has gone into this topic multiple times over the last few months. The last time being two/three weeks before playoffs when Lonzo attempted to ramp up and couldn't even get past the basic first steps of just light jogging. He never got to cutting or any real basketball action. He's got to open the knee back up.
I’d say the fact that we’re 7 weeks past that and it’s still not better is something new. If they knew he’d need surgery they would have done it then
