The issue with the team isn't LaVine. It's DeMar and Vooch needing to occupy the same space on offense and neither being able to play with each other. I guess you can fault LaVine for being a shit defender but he puts more effort on that end than the other two. I think it's unfair to say he isn't a winning player. He's been on nothing but rebuilding/trash rosters his entire career. AK built a team that just doesn't fit well together. The sooner he changes gear the better.
Trade Vooch would be the first step. I applaud the front office for taking a swing with this roster. Now do the smart thing and sell and take another swing with hopefully top 2 pick in this draft.

They have no other choice... You can't allow him to walk. You don't gain his cap space and you can't find someone who can do what he does for the cap we have left. DeMar is the guy that needs to be shipped out. Not sure what his market will be but that's the guy

You can argue they shouldn't have traded for him to make Zach happy. But the team they put together was sitting at the top of the eastern conference. Not to say they were going to be championship contenders but clearly with a healthy Melo this isn't a play in team. With that said they aren't going to tear this shit down. No way Jerry would OK shipping out Vuc, Demar and Zach. Like I said the best thing we could do is ship out Demar and see what Vuc, Zach and Patrick can do with better pieces around them including a legit PG since Melo isn't coming back.

Coby played well be he isn’t a starting PG in this league. He would need to still improve to be someone you can trust. I love him off the bench.
Sign and trade Vucevic for a one/two year bad contract and a draft pick Try a trade package for Lavine with the Blazers for #3 and Shaedon Sharpe Trade Demar for a pick Let Patrick Williams, Coby White, Shaedon Sharpe, and either Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller play next year. Suck the next two years and let Lonzo and whatever bad contracts you take back expire. Hit 2025 with cap space and good young players. This is the only way

Caruso is on a bargain salary for two more seasons. He was the best perimeter defender in the League last season and they should be able to get a decent first for him from a contender especially if they take in a marginal $10M annual contract.
Patrick Williams has the biggest set of nuts i've seen in some time. He's asking for 200m... 200m gets you 21 minutes played 0-3 shooting, 3 rebounds and zero points. This fucking guy who be in the G league at this point. We fired Gar/Pax and somehow got worse at being mid.
