Really solid game. Any shutout on the road is nice, but doing it in St. Louis is just a little nicer.
This was halfway through the game: Michael Cerami@Michael_Cerami Cubs EV (MPH) AR: 97, out JH: 110, out DF: 108, HR JL: 103, out AR: 107, out JH: 110, out ARus: 105, out JS: 111, out KB 103, out DF 102, 2B
Going to Wrigley in about a month. Haven't been before. What do I need to know? Also how tough is it to get tickets for a Monday night game?
Plenty of good seats available for weeknight games, visit cubs.com Not sure how to address your first question; it's really vague. Wrigleyville prior to the contest is a good time. I believe Casey Moran's across the stadium near Sheffield and Clark is a buckeye bar still so give that a whirl.
Good God Soler wasn't even close to catching that. It's a shame he can't figure out how to field the ball because that arm is too nice to waste.
Just love seeing Hammel pitch well and then help himself, he had a rough year last year. If we can get these starts out him for the majority of the year thats just icing on the cake.
Yep. Cards voodoo magic has been pretty strong this series. They've bobbled a lot of balls that they mostly got outs on. Soler's 115 mph shot to short is the only error that cost them that I can think of. Our bats have sucked ass. I would be surprised if we won tonight.
I think it might be a usage thing, not to say Wood is elite. Wood's made an appearance in 7 games... Richard only 2 games.
Right but I just don't have much confidence in either of those guys to come in and retire a lefty in a big spot. Too streaky. I might be nitpicking a little but that seems like an area we could look to improve in July.
Rizzo is hitting .163, Heyward .173, Soler .200, Russell .222, Zobrist .224. Bryant has 2 HR, Schwarber hurt… and the Cubs are 11-3.
Bats were so bad tonight. Really amazing to win a game like this. After Russell struck out with the bases loaded I thought this game would be a shutout, but again... the pitcher comes up and gets a big hit.
And jesus christ - is Bob Costas' tongue still up the city of st louis' ass? I felt like I was listening to a telecast of the cardinals BFIB twitter page at times.
Gotta love Joe Maddon sticking with Strop and believing in the law of averages. Also have to love how Maddon didn't give-in to the racist cards fans rumors. Instead he said there are stupid people everywhere. tl;dr - I love Maddon
Damn, I was pining for Fowler CF Heyward RF Zobrist 3B Rizzo 1B Bryant LF Russell SS Montero C Baez 2B Hendricks P
I think so too but man. Zobrist called out on a pitch outside, homer robbed, then Hendricks robbed of a K followed by a double that could've been an out, followed by that 2 run shot. Unfortunate string of events in that 1st inning.
This zone is huge today though. Hendricks needs to keep it on the outside corner today and he'll get them called.
I didn't realize Arrieta was starting tomorrow. I already have tickets for Friday but I'm going tomorrow now too.
