Kind of a dumb time to make this comment. Thompson has been very good. Fulmer, Boxberger, and Merryweather need to go to just give some young power arms a look.
I disagree on Thompson but I do agree on the other three. And I think help is coming soon including Hauer
This is just perfect…. I think I can once again be done with the MLB cubs for the season and go back and focus on the minor league cubs.
I like that we are sending Thompson down... He's clearly broken. Not sure if it's mechanics or injury I would assume we find out over the next couple of weeks Hopefully Cody can heal up quickly because his bat is missed
I feel like this team was always going to be ass but they tricked people into thinking otherwise in April.
I hate Ross so much at this point. He’s got a .176 borderline major leaguer in the lineup. Let’s bat him second he thinks.
It could be off but Jesse Rodgers has referenced multiple times that the front office makes the lineups, not Ross. Ross hasn’t been good this year but I don’t think we can blame him for the lineup construction
Mangers make calls on pitch hitters, bunting, stealing and the biggest impact is bullpen. Lineups are generally made by others based on analytics
What I did not see coming was Schwarber, Bryant, and Baez all being trash So not having 400 million tied up in a trio that combines to be about 0 WAR is not a bad thing
Ed Howard returned last night… 3 for 5 on the night. Still think this kid has a big future. Cade Horton is going to hit some top 50 lists very soon. We may have crushed that selection. PCA still smashing. Ben Brown is making a case for September And finally keep and eye on this kid…
looked ok Hauer looked like he had a major setback. Sucks because he was very close to returning to the big club. His stuff looked great once again. I wouldn’t recommend watching that video.
Trey Mancini fucking sucks in the field and cost us the game today. Should’ve held onto Rizzo. I’ll die on that hill but it’s not much of a hill to die on.
Guy has a 1.000 OPS in AAA. I continue to be befuddled by some roster decisions around the league. Teams playing a veteran who clearly sucks rather than call up a guy raking in AAA because he's "old" and not a prospect...yet we keep Mastrubuoni around as well.
I think they believe in the bat and by all accounts he’s a stand up guy and very much liked in the locker room. There is also something to be said about playing a bunch of young kids all at once that they probably didn’t want to do but at this point the vets the banked on being helpful largely haven’t been. We are looking at things in a short window but they also can’t treat some of these vets like crap because other free agents will look at it and they don’t want to have a rep that they don’t give a fair shot. Also we were dog shit two weeks ago so it didn’t really matter and how that were hot it’s good to bring up bats that can help that going
And in two weeks we'll probably suck again, so I say bring in as many fresh faces as possible. I'm completely out in the idea of buying at the deadline.
Yeah I’m not buying this hot run… sell and bring up the kids. Three top 75 players in the mlb pipeline updated rankings. Future is coming and quickly
It's just like the start of the season that had some...ill-informed fans thinking the team was actually good. There's no point in buying to try to win the division with like 83 wins.
You have ownership and local media beating the drums of being a buyer at the deadline and I don't understand why we would be doing this. To do what? Win the division as a .500 team and get bounced out in the first round of the playoffs. It's stupid and short sided. Stroman is going to opt out... sell him Belly is going to get a big deal since it looks like he's healthy... sell him Whatever you can get for Smiley, Hendricks you ship them off as well... along with anything else not clearly part of the long term plans.
