That’s why you don’t give up on Brown being in the rotation. He finished May with two outstanding games, two very good, and two terrible. If he blows up every couple games that’s acceptable if he’s really good in the others. We’re 6-4 now in games that he pitches.
Went to the game today, phenomenal job by the pitching staff Don’t think I’ve been to a game in years where 3+ runs are scored between both teams
Yes Swanson beat out a routine grounder to short on Saturday with 2 outs and the bases loaded that padded a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 8th. Phenomenal PCA on the bases changes the game; his maneuver in between third and home last nite was responsible for a run Busch had a stand up triple last nite on what should have been a double bc he was hustling his ass off and the RF mishandled the ball
Insane start by Ben Brown, but as the resident brown hater, I must admit it terrifies me he’s only at 65 pitches. Just no homers please Benjamin Edit: fuck
This umpire is awful. At least 4 guys have been wrung up on pitches outside the zone and some not close
Palencia seems to have filled a huge need and taken off a trade need at the deadline. we should focus all attention on a elite starter at the deadline.
It still hasn’t been exactly pretty but that’s now 13 scoreless appearances for pressly following his nightmare game against the giants. Credit to him for not completely cratering and turning his season around. Hopefully they can get him to a point where he can be used for leverage innings by the end of the year.
ESPN 1000 is talking about any top end starter trade is going to need to include Cade Horton. Has anyone seen that rumor? Seems very out of left field. Their source is Jesse rogers who could very easily be making it up or getting tricked because he’s so stupid.
Jesse was on again today and said it wasn’t so much a report but “teams that trade away pitchers at the deadline want young starters in return”. He was just speculating and is also pretty dumb. It’s very likely he just made it all up
Do we think Jaxon Wiggins performance this year makes him more likely or less likely to be traded next month? I thought he was definitely getting traded but he’s pitched so well that maybe he’s approaching into the no trade grouping. It’ll be interesting to see
Everything I’ve seen has him as untouchable now in trade talks. And that makes sense, not all the pitching prospects are going to work out. But if we can get 3 starters out of Horton, Brown, Wiggins, and Birdsell. We’ll be in a really good place as an organization. Hopefully 1 or 2 of them turns into a top of the rotation starter.
