Going to need a front line start and a depth SP at this deadline. Need to also add a RP and RHB to add a little depth to the bench.
That’s a lot but I’m inclined to agree. Hopefully they can get multiple needs from one team. 4 separate trades is going to be really hard to pull off
Was listening to a pod where they floated the idea of getting a couple of guys of the Gardians roster... But in that hypothetical it would've resulted in losing pretty much all the top 100 prospects. Arizona could a team where we could get a bat and SP... So yeah the injuries are really starting to expose some depth issues.
The best multiple guys in return trade proposal I’ve seen this a trying to get Ryan and Duran from Minnesota. With both those guys having team control left beyond ‘25, that’d be a huge package though.
Is there any timeline on Assad at all? He’d be our number three starter. It’d be nice to get him back because Horton will eventually be on an inning limit.
Carter Hawkins was on espn 1000 this week and thought he’d impact the season but still was on an august - early September timeline
I think a Ryan + Jax package is more feasible. Duran would be so expensive. I mean so would Ryan but I don’t think they need to be overspending on closers right now
Michael Busch. 1B was such a Black hole after Rizzo left. Busch is quickly becoming one of the five best 1B in baseball.
On April 19th the Cubs bullpen had the second worst ERA in the majors. Now they have the second best.
8 homers and a fuck you relief appearance from Berti against the Card makes for a nice little Friday.
Michael Busch is the truth. Dude should start every game going forward. Love Justin Turner as a clubhouse guy but if he’s still around after the trade deadline then Jed didn’t do his job
Hodge has clearly lost it. It’s amazing how finicky relief pitchers are. At the start of the year I would’ve sworn he would finish the year as our closer. Now, he might not be on the roster if we make the playoffs.
