That's just not true on any level. That auburn dline may have been the best in the country when they played. You can't compete for national titles without having a physical team.
If Chip Kelly really hates dealing with recruiting, boosters, and wants to be left alone when he goes out to eat, he'd be a terrible fit in the SEC. I'm more concerned if Florida gets Frost than Kelly. Florida is a great job that most coaches would kill for but they still have made some shaky hires in Zook, Muschamp, and Mcelwain.
I think that Frost is the best young coach in the country. I think that Frost has the potential to be the next Urban Meyer type of guy. He is also supposed to be extremely loyal. One of the things Frost wants is to take his whole coaching staff with him and make sure they get paid. So whatever P5 job Frost takes either this year or eventually, he will stay a long time. Also learned under Kelly. Chip Kelly is a great coach, and I'm sure he'd make Florida immediately better. But if I'm Florida, I'd be concerned that he wouldn't like dealing with the bullshit around coaching football at Florida. The handshaking and booster caravans and all that. If he didn't like the extraneous shit of coaching college at Oregon, where he really only had to deal with Phil Knight, I'd think he'd absolute hate dealing with the Florida boosters and fans. Kelly wants to coach football, and in the NFL he got to experience just sitting in a room and watching tape with other football guys. He has made something around $50 million in the NFL. Kelly would win the headlines, but I'm not sure the fit is all that great.
You might end up being right in the end, but at this point about 90% of this post is conjecture/bullshit.
If Nebraska gets Frost I agree with chuckmasterflex Otherwise he's just another hot shot up and comer from the G5
To your first sentence, he didn’t show that whatsoever at Oregon. To your second sentence, that would be incredibly stupid and is really easy to say at this juncture.
What I'm saying is that Scott Frost is going to be the next head coach of the University of Tennessee.
This also isn't accurate. Chip pissed some folks off by stiff-arming the mid-week booster functions (appearing remotely and sending stand-ins) and that has almost nothing to do with PK.
He ran the ball with the authority, but Al Wilson learned from that ass kicking y'all gave us. And we won the Natty the next year. Al Wilson leading the way.
Makes snide remark about others not watching cfb, then cites incorrect year his favorite team made the national title.
I'm sure he did. My point isn't to denigrate Oregon alums, only to point out that Chip Kelly will be surly with media in LA or Gainesville. In Gainesville it will turn on him quick, because his team would suck in his first year.
I know that wasn't your point. I'm explaining that PK isn't the only person Oregon's coach has to "deal with".
I spent all last night looking through Chip Kelly's wife's Facebook and their relatives. It won't be difficult to threaten this particular coach because his wife is an animal lover. Looks like 2 dogs and a cat. I'm sure Chip will do well and it won't come down to that anyway
Good work. You mind disseminating that information on the Rivals team board? We don’t particularly enjoy this aspect of fandom but it’s an essential part of the contingency process.
Going from hiring Chip Kelly to Scott Frost is a major downgrade. One guy dominated at a power 5 school, the other guys only has a 2 year track record at a group of 5 school.
Chip was a disaster in the NFL and he doesn't seem like a guy who was humbled by the experience. Hopefully he does better at UCLA, but my expectations wouldn't be sky high.
If we only had an example of a successful college coach going to the nfl not doing well returning to college and doing well up his return. I am still not convinced he is coming here but there is nothing to say he won’t do well here or UF.
He’s talking to the numerous people on this board that have argued Frost >>> Chip. Not to the normal people.
Those are all trolls who didn’t want to see chip at uf for obvious reasons. Anyone with a brain would want chip over frost.
