That used to be my go to for a LONG time. They actually made a new one with a Maduro wrapper. My go to every day is the Particulares. Not a big brand but amazing mild to medium cigar that you would love if you are a Herrera Esteli fan
I know the thread isn't very active, but any of you guys use ihavanas to buy Cubans online? The majority of the reviews I read have been very positive although less than a handful have complained. I'm going to London next week, so I may just stock up there since it appears we can bring up to 100 back into the country now. I haven't really smoked much in awhile, so I am not that up on the top picks anymore. Any recommendations on good Cubans? I'm thinking Partagas Series D #4, Monte #2, and R&J Short Churchill, but open to anything as long as it is a torpedo/robusto with a 50-52 inch ring gauge.
I'd highly recommend getting some (larger) torpedoes and toros. I think they are usually rolled to a much higher quality than the robustos, since that was a relatively unpopular size until the last 10 years or so (in Cuba). (EDIT: maybe you're using robusto in place of toro. I'd also recommend a few lonsdales. That size lets you taste the wrapper a lot more. Nice for a change in pace.) The Cuban Partagas Serie D's that I've had have all been fantastic. The Ramon Allones and Fonsecas I've had have all been good, and are cheaper than the famous brands. I think it's the El Rey del Mundos that are super strong in the regular line, but man, it's been 5-6 years since I've had a Cuban that wasn't a corona or something small.
The Partagas are great would recommend picking them up. Montecristo's #2 are always great. Sitting on 10 or so left to age a few years. Really enjoying the Bolivar Gigantes if you can find them. H Upmann Magnums. Those are the only ones I've had lately. Or Punch Double Coronas if you want something that's heavy.
I love me a good Meliano. 888 is a yearly release. Lancero size. And maybe the most tasteful cigar I’ve ever had.
Family friend can get them somehow. I don’t ask questions. Get whatever I want for the most part $10-$12 each.
Also my daily go to cigar is the AJ Fernandez New World with a Cameroon wrapper. Been out about a year. Nice cigar for a great price.
Not yet. Every time I bring them with me somewhere I don’t get a chance to smoke one. Probably break one out for the Super Bowl.
Smoked one of my Siglo VI a couple of weeks ago. Only about a year old. It was not good. Those need to lay down for another 2-3 years.
Humidor question. Last couple of months or so I’ve had issues regulating my humidor. The seal seems fine. I have probably 75 or so cigars in a 100 capacity humidor. I have an electronic humidifier in there, one of those jars with the crystals and glycol and a few of those humidifying packs. Last weekend took all the cigars out and wiped it down with glycol and let it sit for a day. Goes up to 72%. Cigars back in and back down to 64 percent immediately.
Got a couple Montecristo Whites today. Looking forward to sitting around the fire pit with them and a scotch.
Bought a Trinidad in Cuba and it was nice, can’t find it up here even though the shop close to my house keeps Romeo and Juliet cigars. I got this at the same shop, from Nicaragua. You guys know if it’s any good, I am a novice
If you're ever looking for Arturo Fuente. Believe a Fuente owns the place and they usually have everything. https://www.tampasweethearts.com/arturofuentecigars.aspx
I buy from smokeinn.com That was my hangout. So I still support it. My every day cigars right now consist of Fuente Rosado Sun Grown. Perfect work cigar last about 45 minutes. Sit outside after lunch, make phone calls and have a cigar Then New World Cameroon at night. Plus whatever the fuck else I have going on. The new Tatajuae TAA is ridiculously good. Also the new Steve Stake Unstolen Valor cigar very good.
Honestly never seen that label. A lot of places will sell them in those countires and its just a mom and pop place. AJ Fernandez (who is 1 of the top 3 cigar makers with Padron & Fuente) did a reblend of the Trinidad with Nicaraguan tobacco. I still have a couple left form the box I bought and man they are fucking good https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/altadis-and-a-j-fernandez-collaborate-for-trinidad-espiritu
Never had them. I’m not much of an expert. Just started smoking again in December after about 20 years. Just ordered those and picked up a five pack of opus lost city toros. Thanks!
Smoking a Cuban montecristo petite #2 tonight. Been smoking these quite a bit lately and I really like them for a quick smoke.
Now you're just rubbing it in! Also, how has your experience with ihavana been? I'm running low on my cohibas that I bought while there last year and would love to grab some more.
so far so good. I ordered three times from the. First two were legit. Definitely not counterfeit. Waiting on my third now. Takes two to three weeks to get. (and yes, I decided to have a good night)
My cigar game- roughly on par My liquor game- way below My ashtray game- way below (don't have one but looking for a wooden one like the one you have)
That was a cheap hunk of wood I got on amazon. I ordered it at the same time I ordered those glasses that everyone bought. I’ll see if I can find it. edit...not available right now but may be able to find elsewhere.
