Brady, Mullen, Urban
I'm talking out of my ass, but I just never saw him as a fit for the NFL and so far people say he seems to be not adjusting well. I think he washes out quick and goes to a college job like USCw
They’ll bury Sam Pitman on that campus
He’s a better hire than who they will probably hire but they can still do better.
I guess I'm more talking about compared to the rest of that list. I guess if Urban was interested you'd have to consider it, but compared to guys like Fickell, Fleck, Franklin, Campbell, etc., Cristobal just checks off more boxes than the other people, IMO. I can see your point about the Pac 12 stuff being different from the culture of the SEC in terms of stealing coaches, though. That's interesting.
And I get that Cristobal might not be very good as an in-game coach, but neither are the other guys I listed above. Most CFB coaches aren't very good in-game coaches, IMO.
Urban will be named by NFL week 7
boosters and AD might have a different perspective than smaller segment of the fanbase, so I’m not sure
Give it 4 months before hes seen leaving a hotel with a porn star.
lol good one
As an ND fan, if they are going that route, they really need a molder of men.
Edit: Parkman is on it today
Home run hire and perfect for SC if the racistas don’t stop it
that would be fun
that doesn't really seem like a problem
Think Stew is forgetting that like 95% of recruits sign in December now. But I guess maybe the USC ones could hold off due to the uncertainty. Still doesn’t seem like a problem really imo.
Early signing period is most definitely a huge problem for nfl guys trying to get college jobs now. I'd think it'd take an nfl coach with a high level college track record like a saban, chip kelly or harbaugh(before he turned to shit at um) in order for a school of usc's caliber to willingly tank an entire recruiting year. I can't see bienemy getting it without being willing to leave early.
Couldn't he publicly accept the job early and just start in February? I know the staff wouldn't be in place, but recruits would at least have a name and an idea of the type of offense that would be run.
How do you think this plays out? Think he would be a good recruiter and coaches would love to coach with him.
They could hire Bieniemy before his season ends, and he could hire a staff before he's the full-time HC there. That's been done before by NFL assistants. Wouldn't be ideal, but if he wanted the job I bet KC would let him interview in December.
I have no clue what his deal is or if he's a fit there. I kind of think that's an unnecessary risk for SC to take. But they could make it work if they went that route.
They could try that but i'd be shocked if that still didnt result in them pretty much throwing a recruiting class away. We pretty much trashed our 2015 class waiting for harbaugh and we got him in early January and there was no early signing period. It would have be way worse with todays rules.
When he was at cu as oc he was known as a hard ass and ambivalent recruiter and the players hated him which was kind of odd because when he was rb coach in the ealry 2000s he was known as a players coach and rockstar recruiter.
Also have heard Mullen, why would mullen leave Florida?
No Bama standing in your way, conference wise at least. Sign a new deal worth more money
his agent is Jimmy Sexton
flecks cornball shit would be a disaster out there
omg that would be amazing. Just thinking about him living in LA brings a smile to my face at how miserable he would be and how toxic it would be for everyone around him
oh look dome foam that steer's horns are turned down
Most hires happen after NSD even for college coaches.
It's not really a good argument
He's from LA, huh. Sunny Southern California Louisiana.
Agents and their mouthpiece writers
Leftwich is probably getting the TB job whenever Arians leaves, right? And it sounded after last year that time is coming pretty soon.
His first job at the college level in any capacity is going to be the head coach at usc? Ok
EB deeply hated Mike Bohn and had even told him to go fuck himself while they were at CU together. Who knows how much that's changed.
Weren't there some off field issues at Colorado then, too? Or am I just thinking of his first coaching gig under Barnett?
On September 27, 1993, Bieniemy was arrested in Boulder, Colorado, for allegedly harassing a female parking attendant. According to the police report, while with his friends, Bieniemy put his hand on the attendant's neck, startling her. She told police he also made a comment about "a bunch of black males all at once being her worst nightmare," and that Bieniemy and his friends took off their pants and began urinating nearby. Bieniemy was also named in an outstanding warrant on a charge of driving with a suspended license. As a result of this incident, Bieniemy was banned from the University of Colorado Boulder campus for one year.
Dan Patrick riling people up with Franklin to SC stuff this morning, apparently. I like Dan, but him pretending to have sources about things the last few years has been annoying.
If you can't trust Urban Meyer to tell the truth, who can you trust?
Does he still do his show in that depressing looking cabin studio?
Who would PSU target if Franklin's out
team this regardless of whether urbs even would want the job
Fickell sure doesn’t sound interested
the main part of that tweet notwithstanding, even my 5 year old knows that everyone is going to think you're lying if you slump your shoulders, look at the ground, and mumble when you answer that sort of question.
Smart man. Id rather be a rock star at a small school than have to deal w boosters / politics on the highest level
