Sounding less likely by the report. I just get the bad feeling that we'll get nothing out of the transfer window worth anything. We need a center half, possibly a fullback, and a creative midfielder (Kightly could fit this need if he gets healthy) if we want to stay up, but I'm poising for disappointment.

Really want you guys to take MJ on loan from us. He is really talented in the midfield and can create when he is healthy. Just had some bad luck with the new owners and injuries.

It sounds like his hometown team (Plymouth?) and Liverpool are also making a play for him though.

Do not see us helping out Liverpool. He has said he wanted to go Leeds but not sure if they are in play or not.

Finally back to a computer after yesterday's shocker.

After all the hell I gave Mick after continuing to start Ward over his prize signing Fletcher, that was one great finish he provided to give us the goal. Great performance, even Stearman had a great game, which surprised the hell out of me. Saturday looms massive, because we really haven't put two good performances together since the opening weeks and, with all our competitiveness against the big boys, we've struggled against the relegation sides. 3 points would awesome, but I'd still take a draw to keep the Irons firmly below us.

    Re: *** Official Wolves FC Thread | 1:0 @ Anfield | next: Jan 1 @ West Hammerstein ***

Fwiw, only 5 teams have had better results than us in our last 6

    ManU
    City
    Arsenal
    Tottenham
    Blackpool

    Our results have been LWLWLW

While I had hoped for more from that stretch, I'm glad we got full points from 3 of those games. I'm anxious to see what we can do with what little money we have. I wanted to see Keane back, but there's really no room with Fletcher eating so much money to be useless for us. And supposedly he's already agreed to wages with the hammers.

Curtis Davis (which I would love to have) is being pegged as a potential target at RCB.
Richard Dunne could be another possible target as Mick gave him his first start for Ireland.

First, though, we need to worry about hopefully grabbing 3 at Upton and getting to safety. I truly like our chances if we sign a solid defender, take 3 points before our next run through hell (Chelsea, @City, Liverpool, @Bolton, ManU, @Arsenal), maybe steal some points there, and get composed for our last 2 months, which includes 9 straight games that are very winnable (@Villa, @Newcastle, Everton, @Stoke, Fulham, @Birmingham, West Brom, @Sunderland, Blackburn).

After openly worrying if Stearman was just a closet Albion fan for awhile, he's really come on since the Wigan debacle, especially against Liverpool and Chelsea. Berra has always been our stoutest defender, but if Stearman can continue to improve, we might start stringing clean sheets together.

One thing is certain about this team: everyone works their balls off. If a player isn't giving 100%, Mick won't play them, which is why Fletcher has had troubles getting starts, I think.

Sounds like we're about to sign Leigh Griffiths (striker from Dundee) and Adam Hammils (left wing from Barnsley). Doesn't sound like they are first team transfers, but both have decent sounding potential and can provide depth behind Doyle, Fletcher, Hunt and Jarvis (and technically Kightly if we ever see him again).

Great fight again, but you can see how vulnerable we are to counter-attacks. Maybe Henry being back will help break things up in midfield. I really wish we could get Mujangi Bia on the pitch more, because he looks so dangerous at times. That shot he hit in injury time could've gone anywhere off Kompany.

Fletcher, Mujangi Bia, Doyle, Jarvis, and Jones find the net for an emphatic replay victory. Several ironic chants of We're Going to Wemberly, but a cup run would be very nice.

I like the look of him as well. I don't really understand why we've gone on him and not a centre back. We've got Hunt and Jarvis playing pretty much every week, Kightly returning from injury soon (we hope), and Mujangi Bia playing well enough to earn more minutes. Meanwhile, Berra is the only center half that I trust with Craddock getting older and Stearman being schitzo. I guess Hammill is insurance for Hunt and Kightly.

So Hammill likely makes his debut against Liverpool. He sounds like a promising young lad but I think Hunt and Jarvis have done a fine job terrorizing defenses lately. Will be interesting to see where he lands in the lineup. I definitely want to see more of Mujangi Bia.

I agree about Hunt and Jarvo, but I wonder about the stamina of Hunt with him getting into his 30's and having a history of injuries. Hammill sounds like a great insurance plan. As for Mujangi Bia, I really want to see him coming off the bench on a regular basis. He seems a lot more dangerous than Jarvis has been

So we signed Dundee striker Leigh Griffiths today. 21 goals in 46 appearances for the 20 year old. Mick signed him with no expectations to contribute this season.
I guess he'll be a nice prospect to groom for if we get relegated. :tebow:

On the other hand, looks like we're taking Boyata on loan from City for the remainder of the season. We desperately need that talent at CB.

    Boyata deal never had legs.

Jamie O'Hara comes over from Tottenheim for the remainder of the season to bolster our midfield. I just wish we could establish a consistent starting XI. I couldn't tell you what the best combo in the midfield is anymore.
