In addition to those, we have: Helder Costa - out for about 2 months but my favorite man to watch since Sako Prince Oniangue - looks to be given a second chance Andy Lonergan - is it possible to be 5th choice GK? Romain Saiss - has a bit to prove but I'm hopeful he can play off of Neves Ivan Cavaleiro - will have to be the guy while Costa is out Will Norris - incredible shot stopper from Cambridge; immediately becomes our #2 and huge potential to be our future #1 John Ruddy - had to go grab a new #1 while Carl Ikeme battles acute leukemia Ryan Bennett - odd signing; could be depth or could be a starter; I really don't know Willy Boly - mountain of a defender and looked to have incredible service against Bremen Barry Douglas - probable starting LWB; pretty excited for this one Roderick Miranda - most likely starter alongside Boly; looks like a fucking caveman Phil Ofosu-Ayeh - out for a minute as he came to us injured (nice, thorough job by the medical team) but is likely to battle Coady for the starting spot at RWB Ruben Neves - how the fuck did we pull this off? his class was evident the moment he stepped on the pitch Jonathan Flatt - loaned out and unlikely to ever feature for Wolves again Ethan Ebanks-Landell - loaned out and unlikely to ever feature for Wolves again Nicu Carnat - loaned out but young enough to contribute eventually
Big matchday 40. Wolves v Hull Villa v Reading Fulham v Leeds We can all but assure promotion if things fall our way today. Cardiff dropping 2 to Sheffield United yesterday was massive. Pretty favorable run-in to close out the season: Tigers (18th) @Visit Malaysia (2nd) Derby (5th) Brum (21st) @Bolton (20th) Wednesday (16th) @Sunderland (24th)
You magnificent bastards. My god. 2 PKs in added time. 1st one saved. 2nd one missed. John Ruddy. Just tremendous. We are fucking going up.
This is everyone’s thread. We are all Wolves now. Unless you’re a West Brom fan. Then I don’t know what to tell you. Have fun in the Championship for the next decade. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But like everyone else is welcome.

Wolves will be in Vegas in a few weeks to celebrate. Should I tell them to pick up their thread icon before they head back? GoodForAnother Taques
Fun facts. Leeds United haven’t been in the Premier League in 14 years and they have a thread icon. Sunderland plays in League One and they have a thread icon.
You didn’t think it could be done. I knew I’d get an icon back if we won promotion. It wasn’t easy. I had to buy an English club for £30m, invest another £25m in players, and devote my entire life to winning a second division trophy. And sure, I could’ve maybe just made a $20 donation to try to entice you guys. But I have principles.
Time for some positional analysis. No. Position Player Player Status Contract Expiry 1 GK Carl Ikeme Jun-19 Has all but beaten his leukemia diagnosis; isn't going to beat out Jack Ruddy but will be valuable depth as he knows the Premier League and is the best locker room presence you can ask for 2 DF Matt Doherty Jun-21 Doc was fantastic in his first full season at wingback. Bring in some competition for him and Barry but they both might be good enough for now. 3 DF Barry Douglas Jun-19 Tremendous value in getting him from Konyaspor last summer. Absolutely keep. 4 MF Alfred N'Diaye (on loan from Villarreal) Jun-18 Featured more in the second half of the season. Was afraid we had another Joao Teixeira situation on our hands. I'd find a way to make this permanent. 5 DF Ryan Bennett Jun-20 Norwich fans gave us shit for this. Not only was he good enough to play in our 3-man backline, he was excellent. And he's found a way to keep his shirt tucked in for 90 minutes. Keep for depth, but try to upgrade. 6 DF Danny Batth (Captain) Jun-20 Been at the club since he was 10. I'm not as willing to part with him as others. I don't think he commands the Captaincy going forward and maybe we can upgrade on him pretty easily, but he is the kind of guy I want to play his entire career at Wolves. Very much in the Jody Craddock mold and an eventual testimony match will be well-deserved. 7 FW Ivan Cavaleiro Jun-21 He came alive in year 2. He'll deserve a pay raise and we should give it to him. 8 MF Rúben Neves Jun-22 Still no fucking idea how or why he moved to Wolves on a Championship-record signing last summer. This is simply put one of the finest moves our front office has ever made. Neves just turned 21 and I fully expect to see him at the top of the game in a few years -- hopefully with Wolves. 9 FW Rafa Mir Jun-22 I need to know more about this. There's a reason we brought him over from Valencia in January. Is there a reason he has the 9 shirt already and we just don't know it? 11 MF Jordan Graham out of contract this summer Jun-18 I don't know what's going on here but loaning him out was frustrating when he was our most promising asset at the time it happened. It may be that we don't play wingers anymore and he just doesn't fit. He really never got back into the team after the loan had been cancelled. We should get what we can for him. 15 DF Willy Boly (on loan from Porto) Jun-18 MAKE IT PERMANENT THIS MAN IS A MOUNTAIN 16 DF Conor Coady Jun-21 What a rollercoaster. He started out in a crowded midfield (read: not a talented midfield), we all booed when Paul Lambert moved him to RB, then booed harder when Nuno moved him to CB. He has found his home as the anchor of the backline. Give him the armband. 17 FW Hélder Costa Jun-21 He got us through 2016/17 and gave Fosun a lot of confidence in their investment. Had some injury trouble this year but he has been great for us and can be truly special in the Prem. 18 FW Diogo Jota exercising buy-option We are about to crush our own transfer record to exercise this option. Jota is the most dangerous forward I've ever seen at Wolves. Do whatever it takes to keep him for many years. Don't be confused by his nameplate reading Silva. 19 FW Benik Afobe (on loan from Bournemouth) Jun-18 Jota can't do it all, though. Afobe is universally loved at Wolves for his previous stint and he solved most of our striker goal drought when he came back in January. Played some lovely football with Jota and Cavaleiro. Tell Eddie Howe to suck our dicks and make this move permanent. 21 GK John Ruddy Jun-19 That's Golden Glove winner John Ruddy, to you. Take your backline out for a nice steak dinner, then get ready to defend your starting spot if the Jack Butland rumors are to be believed. 23 DF Phil Ofosu-Ayeh Jun-20 Injury trouble has been unfortunate. He didn't see the pitch. I don't think Phil will ever contribute in the Prem so let's see what we can get for him. 24 MF Morgan Gibbs-White Jun-22 Part of the U17 World Cup champion England side. He just turned 18 but I think he's ready to feature for us in the Prem. He got a few caps under his belt in the Championship and looked alright. 25 DF Roderick Miranda Jun-21 Not a starter but could still be solid depth. I won't fuss if he moves on, though. 26 FW Bright Enobakhare Jun-19 Opened his account against Barnsley in September and then was never heard from again. Feels like one of those career Championship players. Let's see what we can get for him. 27 MF Romain Saïss Jun-20 Started to get in on the goal-scoring fun this year. I'm sold on the midfield pairing of Saiss/Neves. It's the strongest area of the pitch. Now reinforce it. 29 DF Rúben Vinagre (on loan from Monaco) Jun-18 I don't know enough but he played well in his few appearances and opened his account against Burton Albion (RIP). Make it permanent as our depth at wingback is shallow. 30 DF Kortney Hause Jun-21 1 appearance in the FA Cup this year. I'm confused by his disappearance but he was tremendous in the England U21 camps. We apparently didn't miss him, though, so here's another one I won't be fussed about losing if it happens. 31 GK Will Norris Jun-20 Still thinking this is probably our future starting keeper unless we splash the cash in the Prem. 33 FW Léo Bonatini (on loan from Al-Hilal) Jun-18 12 goals isn't a bad return but when it dried up, it was bone dry. He was literally our only striker in the squad for 5 months, though. This is the one area we have to go out and spend money on this summer. I wouldn't mind him staying but understand if we don't make it permanent. 34 MF Pedro Gonçalves Jun-19 I have no idea. Keep? He made the 27 and is under contract for another year. 38 DF Oskar Buur Rasmussen 1 appearance. 1 goal. Not sure what his contract situation is but he seems to be a promising 20 year-old defender. Spoiler: Loan guys below the line 10 FW Joe Mason (on loan to Colorado until Dec-18) Jun-19 Please buy him, Colorado. 12 MF Ben Marshall (returning from loan) Jun-20 Sell him. 14 MF Michał Żyro (returning from loan) Jun-19 Another promising player we've lost to an injury that will never truly heal. 20 MF Connor Ronan (returning from loan) Jun-19 I think he can contribute in the Prem. 32 DF Sylvain Deslandes (returning from loan) Jun-18 Worthless loan to Pompey. Jog on, I guess? 35 FW Donovan Wilson (returning from loan) Jun-20 Strange that he got a number. Made his league debut for us last year, then disappeared to a L2 team. 36 DF Connor Johnson (returning from loan) No future here. 37 MF Daniel Armstrong (returning from loan) Jun-18 No future here. — GK Jack Ruddy (returning from loan) Jun-20 Probably not the son of John Ruddy. Probably won't miss him. — DF Ethan Ebanks-Landell (returning from loan) Jun-20 Our luck with hyphenated names ran out with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. — DF Aaron Hayden (returning from loan) No future here. — DF Dominic Iorfa (returning from loan) Jun-19 Still one of the most physical specimens I've seen in a Wolves top. I'd take a flyer here and bring him back from the fighting Micks (again, RIP) — DF Ryan Leak (returning from loan) No future here. — DF Aaron Simpson (returning from loan) No future here. — MF Nicolae Carnat (returning from loan) Jun-18 No future here. — MF Ryan Giles (returning from loan) No future here. — MF Christian Herc (returning from loan) Jun-20 No future here. — MF Daniel McKenna (on loan to Bray Wanderers until Aug-18) No future here. — MF Prince Oniangué (returning from loan) Jun-20 Tongo Doumbia 2.0. Too old to start contributing now. Get rid of him. — MF Andrew Sealey-Harris (returning from loan) No future here. — MF Ben Stevenson (returning from loan) Jun-20 I'm willing to ride this one out. — FW Aaron Collins (returning from loan) Jun-18 No future here. — FW Paul Gladon (returning from loan) Jun-19 Sign him to be a real-life mannequin for our club shop. He's a glorified Instagram model and largely redefined the dining offerings in Wolverhampton. The city should repay his patronage and fine tastes. — FW Duckens Nazon (returning from loan) Jun-19 Hang onto him for now. He made Deadspin's "Name of the Year" bracket. That's something... also had a pretty successful loan stint at Oldham, despite their relegation.
This miniseries shown at the end of season dinner gave me all the feels. If you have 15 minutes, it’s worth a watch to get the recap on the season.
