Re: *** Hello Darkness, My Old Friend *** Congrats. Looks like you'll be the second biggest West Ham supporter next weekend around here.

Re: *** Hello Darkness, My Old Friend *** You've inspired me to change mine as well. I also hereby petition to change the name of the thread to "The Black Country's Ours". 11 points from 18 against the West Midlands.[br][br]EDIT: Just realized that Guedioura had a major going on.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Guedioura He's come back with a vengeance. Oh, and thread title changed so we can brag to the 0 WBA fans on the board.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Hey, it's also a major wanker sign to the 0 Villa and Birmingham fans on board too.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Wolves v West Brom (STFC) The Black Country's ours..................... Fuck, I would've given so much to have been in Molineux this morning. Can't imagine what that atmosphere would compare to.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Doyle made the trip to Sunderland. Sunderland only has 14 healthy players.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** ONE STEVEN FLETCHER! THERE'S ONLY ONE STEVEN FLETCHER! What a result, especially with the Blackpool win, to maintain control of our own destiny. Fletcher has progressed so much since the first half of the season, and at the perfect time after Doyle's injury. So, so close now, just needed a better result than the Tangerines next week. I wish United had something to play for in that game.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** So awesome. And if we do indeed survive, it will open up many more possibilities for expansion.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Yikes. Will be continuing to sport the current kit with Doyle-o's name on the back next year then, so we better stay up and keep him.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Agreed. The black collar makes the kit this year. Love it. I'd get a name on the kit, but I already don't know a single person that can name any Wolves players. I'm surprised when anyone knows what kit I am wearing.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** Yeah, I didn't think I'd like having a name on the back, but it was a Christmas gift and I wear the fuck out of this jersey. I don't like getting names on the back of national jerseys (have a few England kits and would only consider getting a name if I can find a Jack Wilshere one), but I've become a convert for getting club jerseys with names on the back. I might get the black change kit on sale with Fletcher on the back if I'm in a celebratory mood next paycheck.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** God, I'm nervous as fuck for tomorrow. I can't shake the feeling that both Stoke and Man. U will lay down for Wigan and Blackpool, and Blackburn will just park the bus against us. Doesn't help that Blackpool winning away to save their season at Old Trafford would be such a storybook end to their season. I'm thinking about taking out some misery insurance, but I can't find anywhere online that does relegation bets and the best I can think of was parlay moneyline Wigan, Blackpool, and Blackburn to win.
Re: *** The Black Country's Ours *** This is awful. Everyone is trying to score spectacularly and they're wasting so much possession. I'd be happy with a goal to separate us from Wigan at this point.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** One Pavlyuchenko! There's only one Pavlyuchenko! One Pavlyuchenk---o!!! There's only one Pavlyuchenko!
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Tomorrow, we demolish the Stan Cullis stand. Bring on the renovations. I can't wait to see what the closed ends look like. Molineux is going to be sick.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Me neither. So huge that we stayed up this year, because I think we can start making moves to stabilize, not just survive.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** BTW I'm going to start making moves to my dad on here. Figured one more Wolves fan couldn't hurt.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** So Phase One starts tomorrow: These all depend on our ongoing status in the top flight, but it sounds like they are close to approving Phase Two: Get your dad on here. We could use a 4th Wolves fan.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Can't wait for the gallery to come up on the official Wolves site. Pretty good interview on there already about how Mick might try staying sober post-game for once.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Mick McCarthy Wolves FC Stay Up!!!!! 22nd May 2011
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Really happy to see Wolves stay up, wanted Wigan, Blackpool, and Wolves to stay up. 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Wolves showed what a small team can do, playing on limited resources and not just playing kick and rush soccer. They play hard and they always to play, even against the top teams. Good job Wolves.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Mick dropped the f-bomb at least once during an ESPN game bellows it out like a true man, too
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Just read back through the entire thread. I'd like to point out that I always said that we were staying up, even though I thought for sure we were down at halftime today. First time I've been really hacked off that the season is over, probably because I've never followed a season as closely as this, and I owe it all to this board and this thread (and my dad's foxsoccer.tv account). Thanks for sticking with us, pre; it wouldn't be the same without you, mate. Here's to another roller coaster next year. WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE, YES WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** I think the dozens of thread titles throughout the year sum up the roller coaster. Not sure I wanna read back through the thread, but I did find myself reading through the live game blog on wolves.co.uk a few minutes ago. Love how crazy the posters were going over there. I'm very excited for next year. Even if we really won't have the money to spend on players, since it's all going to a beautiful renovation.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** I don't know if we need too much outside of a center back. We'll sign O'Hara, maybe Mancienne, and a half decent CB, and probably sell either Doyle or Jarvis to finance it. I wouldn't mind seeing Zubar in the middle with the way that Foley finished up the season at RB.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Would hurt a lot more to lose Doyle than Jarvis. Looking back on his season, he is a good player, but I'm not sure how many goals he actually created. He could tear apart any defense, but he could not hit a cross to save his life. Do we want Mancienne? I know he's been with us for 3 years, but he makes some boneheaded decisions. Do hope we make the O'Hara transfer. I know we both hated on him, but he has by far the best ball control on the team and could be our fulcrum in the midfield. Interesting player.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** I think Mancienne would be a good transfer for 3-4 million with his versatility. I agree that Jarvis is more expendable than Doyle, and we'd be selling him at his highest point. If they think Kightly can produce at this level and they can sign Mujangi Bia as depth, I wouldn't bat an eye to selling Jarvo. EDIT: Just read that Mujangi Bia is joining Standard Liege in the summer, so we better be damn sure that Kightly can hold up.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Of two minds about possibly losing Henry. He's a very average midfielder, but I worry about losing a leader with the team. I'd love to see us pick up Roger Johnson though.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** QPR will enjoy playing down a man in several games in that case. I think the team can rally around someone else being captain (Milijas, Jarvis, Guedioura, Henno??) I'd love for that to be one of our only sales if it brings in a quality center back. I don't know if you agree with me, but I think Elokobi and Zubar are cornerstones on the backline. Still can't help but wonder how good Jelle would've made our backline.
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** Delighted for Wolves fans and especially Mick McCarthy. Always had a soft spot for them which grew a couple of years ago as a guy from my school plays for them!
Re: *** :premiersmug: *** God I hope so. I think I remember hearing that it would be, but it might be wishful thinking. I have to admit, that was my first thought as well. If that's the kind of player they go after first, I can't imagine they'll be another Blackpool. I think you'll see Foley get the armband, considering he's been around since the championship days. Random thought: are there any wingers who get the armband? The only one I can think of was Becks for United and England.
