Hits Daily Double, music industry blog that leaked the 2015 headliners, so they know what's up.

JT and CG have been confirmed by "message board insiders" for a month or two, so I believe this. They've actually said Timberlake has been pushed back a year - was signed on to do last year but then didn't want to do the same year as Beyonce.

Really disappointed they took a risk on Kanye.

Lineup will almost certainly be out tomorrow or Thursday since Bottle Rock announces on Monday the 7th and Coachella almost always is the first announced lineup of the New Year.

Headliners are still a complete unknown for those who haven't been following. From the ones "leaked" in October:

-Justin Timberlake: Almost 100% out. Had vocal chord issues this fall and postponed tour dates until this spring - his tour ends with him playing shows on the east coast the Friday and Saturday of Coachella, so he could technically play a California show on Sunday, but highly doubtful given logistics and health that he would do that.

-Kanye West: Pushed back his album indefinitely, still seems to be as crazy as ever, highly rumored for a Kids See Ghost set at Gov Ball (which would mean a solo show at Coachella may be odd), @Coachella tweeted "Let's vote to change what's going on now" before election day (so doubt they'd book a MAGA guy) ... nothing definitive, but a lot going against him

-Childish Gambino: A couple purported "insiders" hearing he isn't playing any more, but probably the most likely of the three headliners.

So for the first time since 2013, the headliners may actually be a surprise!

An editor on Consequence of Sound is claiming he dropped within the last 24 hours. I'm sure they had a backup, but what an asshole.

Well, they official @Coachella account just tweeted confirmations of two small font acts in the last 45 mins... I'd expect another 2 or 3 confirmations and the lineup out tonight still.

My guess is either the Kanye shit didn't happen in the last 24 hours, or they had a pretty locked in back-up plan.

If you ranked the last nine headliners in terms of "biggest" acts, would these three all be 7, 8, and 9? Kind of wild. And the rest of the lineup doesn't really make up for that.

    1. Beyonce (2018)
    2. Eminem (2018)
    3. Lady Gaga (2017)
    4. Radiohead (2017)
    5. Kendrick Lamar (2017)
    6. The Weeknd (2018)
    7. Ariana Grande (2019)
    8. Childish Gambino (2019)
    9. Tame Impala (2019)

I’m no huge fan but she is #1 on Spotify. 60 million listens a month.

    For reference, gambino is 197.

Kendrick is 53rd with 26 million.

Gambino is an incredibly weak HL...not a great HL group at all, as much as I love Tame Impala.

Exactly what I was thinking. I’m not sure what her demographic is though...14-18? 12-22? I’m 28, don’t know a single person who listens to her

i've never been, but have always wanted to. has it turned into more of a PR thing now? you usually just see all these celebrities posting photos of what they're wearing, while at some awesome vacation home. like a status symbol to say you were there?

like southside said, AG is more of a low 20's womens crowd, you'd have to assume.

my fiance has a little family tradition of going to Lolla, has been the past 7-8 years. it seems to be going downhill as well, catering to the younger crowd.

or maybe that's the way it's always been, we're just not hip anymore in our 30's.

That's exactly what these festivals should do since they are the demographic who goes. Some festivals still do a good mix of old and new. Always think Beale Street has a good lineup for that.

They have a very long history with Paul Tollett - the founder of Goldenvoice - and Goldenvoice - the promoter of Coachella going back to their early days. Goldenvoice (believe it or not) started as a punk/alternative booking agency/promoter before morphing into the place that runs Coachella.

In 2007 they reunited at Coachella and in 2011 Goldenvoice hosted the LA Rising festival at the LA Colosseum that they headlined above Muse.

Plus, if they're doing this to raise 2020 voting awareness, Coachella seems like the most people to hit and the earliest.

I guess my thoughts on Coachella are just based on all the celebrities using it as PR. I have no idea what the crowd is outside of that.

Also, I want them to play Lolla so I can see them.
