I don't see why not but I don't smoke a lot of weed and have never been to a dispensary. Your cousin will probably be a better resource.
I'm not a big weed person either, but my friend said they card at the door like a club. So you can try but may not be able to get in. Can try to pull a "shit left my card at home" type act or just have your cousin by for you. He'd know best if it's a place he goes to a lot.
Food lineup is out: http://la.eater.com/2017/4/3/15163310/coachella-food-chefs-restaurants-2017 Off the top of my head, here's some good stuff: -Bludso's: absolutely awesome barbecue place in Hollywood -Eureka: excellent burgers -Plan Check: also really good burgers -Wolf: fancy LA area restaurant I've gone to once that's really good
Osso Bucco riblets are awesome from there as well. Perfect snack if you don't want a huge meal. A buddy of mine manages Eureka so he usually hooks us up with tickets and free food.
No, they won't let you in without a card (that changes 1/1/18). Many shops have their "menu" on Weedmaps. http://www.thecannabist.co/2017/04/04/coachella-weed-not-allowed/76580/
Spoiler alert in the link, but here's a gif of the current state of the fields: Spoiler: Field Expansion Decent amount of changes to the grounds this year have been confirmed: -They've expanded east to Monroe - meaning there is an additional 20 acres to the fields this year. You can notice in the pic that the Mojave and Gobi tents are behind the Sahara this year to the east in the new field area -Added a new tent called the Sonora for emerging punk / Mexican / local acts -Added a new food area called the Boardwalk -Added a new VIP area in the added 20 acres -Shifted main stage a bit to be more in the center of the field, and shifted the Outdoor to be in the corner by Monroe
Outdoor must still be under construction because I don't see it. The main stage orientation should help a lot with traffic flow. Looks like the Sahara is staying that corner and will continue to be an overcrowded shit show.
More or less. Sometimes they shift an act up or down 5 or 10 mins depending on how tight set up / break down times were or if there ends up being a stampede from one stage to another and they decide to give it a bit more time in between sets. But I can only remember once off the top of my head them actually moving an artist to another time - believe that was Avicii in 2012 who was pissed he conflicted with Radiohead and so they moved him for Weekend 2. They also swapped Blur/Stone Roses in '13 but they co-headlined, so different situation.
i'm FURIOUS at that sunday night. justice at 9:55, marshmello at 10:00, and kendrick at 10:25. that's some fucking bullshit. hopefully they tweak it for week 2
I knew it was probably going to happen but it still makes me sad. And then of course there's Saturday night where I literally don't care about anyone between the time Tycho ends and Classixx begins.
I've seen propane grills before. Just not sure how much use you'll get out of it. Cooking/cleaning takes a bit of time and it's a lot easier to just buy food.
Friday 2 PM arrival (wander around for an hour or two and have a beer) > King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard > Bonobo > Mac Demarco > Glass Animals > Father John Misty > SPLIT: Guided by Voices / the XX > Radiohead Saturday 2:30 PM arrival > Mitski > Floating Points > Car Seat Headrest > Thundercat > Roisin Murphy > SPLIT: Future / Royksopp > Warpaint > Bon Iver > Nicolas Jaar > Lady Gaga Sunday 2 PM arrival > Preoccupations > Ezra Furman > Skepta > wander and catch half sets > Future Islands > Hans Zimmer > Lorde > wander for a bit of Justice or Real Estate > Kendrick Lamar (ugh missing New Order)
You da man We've got to wait on some people this year so we can't hook up with your group unfortunately, but we will def have to kick it again
Leaving the office in two hours. First friends are getting to the house in 30-45 mins pretty excited. We're 2 miles from the fest.
I'll be working here all weekend if you niggas need weed http://www.spin.com/2017/03/coachella-marijuana-oasis-weedmaps/
thoroughly enjoying this funk right now, despite the fact that I'm not tripping nor have I ever tripped on acid before, although I almost did one time
they moved some set times around for sunday: marshmello at 9:55 justice at 9:45 kendrick at 10:35 seems as if you could see most of justice and then see all of kendrick now
Today is acid Saturday. 14 of the 19 in our house will be doing it together. If you see a collective by the DoLab, that'll probably be us. Richie Hawtin killed it yesterday.
Finally back in action at work. Actually have to do some work right now and later today/tomorrow I'll get some full thoughts on individual shows, but awesome time. Other than the Radiohead sound issues, most sets I saw hit expectations and had a few amazing moments. Grounds expansion was gorgeous and I never felt too overcrowded. House worked out amazing with 17 people in our La Quinta home and we had a crazy time. What a weekend.
