The wife wanted and purchased a Technovorm Moccamaster around Christmas. I can't complain about the coffee it makes.
I can never go back from doing Aeropress, it has spoiled me. I make it every day for work and it has ruined me on any other type of coffee maker.
What do you cunts have for a work setup? Right now we've got the usual commercial coffee pot. What do you recommend to step up the quality in an office with about 6-7 regular coffee drinkers?
Idk. Under $1k? I'd throw it on the office's expense report. Probably be easier to justify a few hundred.
http://www.clivecoffee.com/product/bonavita_8cup_stainless.html this is a fantastic machine. i have the bv1800. caveat:if you really want to step up the coffee game in the office, then you have to get freshly roasted beans and grind them right before brew. no machine can make up for pre-ground coffee.
If you want to get good and cunty Baratza Virtuoso Grinder - $229 Baratza Esatto to convert that grinder to weight based grinding - $169 Ratio 8 Coffee Maker - $480 Cunty Coffee Total - $878
I'm about to get the 1900. To the office question, I'd go with a bonavita maker, a capresso infinity grinder, a cheap scale, and a toddy cold brewer for variation. You'd probably be under $600 for the equipment. Then I'd just worry about beans. Don't go all in and then forget about the important part.
I don't drink coffee often but would like to be exquisite and cunty when I do. After reading recs in the other thread I think I'm going to go with the Chemex over the press.
I was already planning to register for one of these for my wedding but this sealed the deal. Registering for a Chemex too
Just trying to make it through the next 6 months with the Keurig. No k-cups though One of my Dad's employees owns a coffee plantation in Honduras so I've been using that everyday with the Keurig. He dries the beans before grinding as opposed to roasting. Much different taste but it's quite good.
I've been bringing cold brew from a hario mizudashi to work for a couple of weeks. It's delicious, easy, and really cheap.
Been using Trader Joe's coldbrew for the last two weeks. Hot cup in the morning and then CB after lunch
Saw this got bumped and thought why not tell y'all bout some great coffee I recently purchased. Went to Hawaii and took a tour of Hula Daddy coffee plantation. The place was very hospitable offering a variety of coffee for free, as well as a free tour. We did a cupping of some of their coffees. I ended up getting a pound of their peaberry and it as tremendous. Link: http://www.huladaddy.com/
Hula Daddy is Kona coffee, and apparently has high scores on their coffees than other Kona coffee growers. However, I am not an expert in different Kona growers.
Someone give me what would amount to a cunty starter kit/advice. I know jack shit about brewing coffee but I am developing a love for coffee that I didn't think I would have before, however my only coffee avenues are my keurig (shitty) or Starbucks (expensive). Want to start drinking some good coffee.
You can get more expensive versions of each of these components, but pour over is a pretty easy way to go http://www.crateandbarrel.com/hario...e=&network=g&gclid=CLHA64-T7cYCFQuQaQodsqkC2w
Fresh roasted beans, freshly ground. Here is storage advice: https://bluebottlecoffee.com/frequency/store-coffee
I went with a clever dripper, a cheap kitchen scale, a burr hand grinder, and an electric kettle. That will run between 100-125 in total. And then get some fresh beans, and you're in business.
So for your guys regular morning cup of coffee do you guys use anything simpler or just put aside the little bit of extra time to make your coffee?
Sometimes I do cold brew and bring a jug to the office. Sometimes I make the extra time to fill a thermos. A guy I work with has one of these, which may be easier http://www.amazon.com/Gamila-Impress-Black-Coffee-Brewer/dp/B00GKNOH8C
Just stopping by to say that Nitro Cold Brew is incredible and I wish I could drink it every day for the rest of my life
Have you had the cold brew at Stumptown that comes out of a Guinness draft? Might be similar to this, idk.
I was using a keurig with the fill your own adaptor but I just couldn't do that shit anymore. Been doing just a french press every morning...until I get the bonavita as a wedding present
Got this coming tomorrow. Also found a local roaster that sells 2 week old beans at about $7/lb. Office coffee:engage
I feel like there's a step or two missing in these pics. How did blue thing go from the top in the first pic to the bottom in the third and then just disappear entirely for the rest?
this Bulletproof shit with grass fed butter is pretty amazing https://www.bulletproofexec.com/how-to-make-your-coffee-bulletproof-and-your-morning-too/
I think that is the measuring cup in the 1st. You dump it in the dotted vessel, turn it upside down, and plunge it. It's essentially an aeropress that plunges into its own mug.
