Not sure about the knock, but it's surprisingly easy on the lido and jx. My 3 year old can even use the jx with a little assistance. The porlex is tedious as hell though
Pulled out the KNOCK today, and currently dialing in the grind for my v60. Will reincorporate it into my daily routine, as the nuance adds to my enjoyment
has anyone used the Fellow coffee insulated mug? https://fellowproducts.com/products/carter-move-mug-slide-lock-lid?variant=40267118379108 I have a couple RTIC and Yeti...I mainly use them in the house without the lids to keep coffee warm longer each morning. This slide. Lock looks better for cars...coffee or not.
I have a carter Move mug, (not the version you linked) and it'd been ok from the perspective of keeping coffee hot - I haven't used it in 1-2 years but IIRC, it was a bit big for my car's cupholder. I've been using my trusty Zojirushi container but either this or the MIIR ones are pretty solid. Every now and then, I absentmindedly end up burning my tongue because the Zojirushi container one keeps liquids hot for too dang long.
I just got some Lifeboost Espresso for my Breville. Have to finish off this Bustello first. I'm going to offer double shots to everyone that so much as passes my house.
I have the 2 of the mugs, which is amazing, but don't have that lid. I have the "no-splash" travel insert & normal screw down lid. I've been meaning to grab the lid
I have $250 to spend on a new kettle and grinder. I’ve been using a Baratza Encore and a 1L Bonavita gooseneck kettle for 7 years. The grinder bit the bullet this week and the kettle is on its last leg. I only grind 35-40g per day so I’m not opposed to a manual grinder. Should I just buy another encore and bonavita?
I think Oxo makes a better kettle than Bonavita and is 100$. Worth a look. Not sure what your options would be for grinders around 150$ but Encore's on sale for 118 at a bunch of places. https://www.vibrantcoffeeroasters.com/shop/p/baratza-encore
You're probably looking at the baratza encore for auto or a 1zpresso for manual. Both have pros and cons. I'm a manual guy, but you may want auto if you're grinding 35-40 g in one shot. Not sure the 1zpresso has a hopper big enough for that and while 20-25 g take little time, 40 would be a little grueling
I just got my 1Zpresso X-Pro last week and it is amazing. I brew 30 gram doses and I grind it in about 30-40 seconds or so. I would recommend it. The only issue they done sell it in the US. I got mine from Rogue Wave and they have free shipping. They also threw in some seasoning beans to break in the grinder and a few samples to try out. https://www.roguewavecoffee.ca/collections/grinder/products/1zpresso-x-pro Edit: Looks like they are sold out at the moment. You may try a few other places in Canada if you are in a hurry to get one in.
Depending on how mechanically inclined you are Baratza could probably help you diagnose the issue and you could swap the parts yourself. Disassembly isn’t bad at all on the encore. Baratza has great support, could certainly save you some money if you could find the problem.
Bold Bean Rare Coffee Club - advanced access link (it's been incredible & sells out fast) Spoiler https://boldbeancoffee.com/products/rarecoffeeclub
thanks! I am a previous customer AND a subscription holder but didn't get an email. be sure to use SHIPFREE for free shipping. In for one.
The email I got was from Erin Lee their wholesale director, same person that sent me the email for the after their initial run. So the sender was a person and not from the company email. Just for further note if you don’t get it next time. Although I’m sure one of us will alert the thread.
She’s very nice BTW. I reached out direct, when we got the previous notification in the fall, to make sure it was okay for me to share it with a “few friends” that missed out on round 1.
Had some beans that I wasn't loving with the v60 or wave. Pulled out the clever for the first time ij a while and it really improved things.
This has already shipped for me. Remind me, do we get one per month? I have to look back I’m trying to remember if I got them all from the last session.
Started using my NOCK Aegrind daily for all my brews… impressed. Really improved my ability to dial in grind & yielding much improved cups. Spoiler

Did fellow forget there’s five Tuesday’s in January? They advertised Ethiopian month and today is Rwandan.
Yeah they messed it up lol. I needed to skip one anyway as I’m traveling this week and only a few cups into the bag from Brandywine.
Probably the last chance... in case anyone missed it: https://boldbeancoffee.com/products...499&utm_medium=email&utm_source=shopify_email Spoiler
I agree. For price to value ratio, they're pretty low. They increased prices, reduced bag sizes and the quality + customer service has definitely deteriorated. They've spent all that $$$ on growth / influencer marketing and "sustainable" packaging that seems all too wasteful .. it all frankly screams like they're trying to get acquired.
Onyx is the one popular roaster that I've never had good luck with. They've all been pretty meh and for some reason, it's been chaff city with multiple grinders and every bag
Or just price it high as hell to get the people that have been utilizing Drops to sign up for their "Coffee Club" instead... Membership model would make them more salable as well.
