Rumor has it that the silent commit is Scottie Barnes. Not really a post player, but he’d be playing the 4 for Kentucky.
What happened? I read yesterday that Scottie Barnes was unlikely to UK because he wants to play PG rather than be a wing.
Arkansas landed 4* Davonte Davis over the weekend, who originally committed to Ok State. We are hosting 4* Moses Moody of Monteverde and KK Robinson (now at Oak Hill) this coming weekend. Both originally from Arkansas.
KU got a commitment for 2020 from 4 star juco SF Tyon Grant-Foster. He's a kid that normally ends up at Iowa State, K-State, Missouri. Looks like a diet of Top 100-150 guys until further notice.
Not sure how us taking Davonte impacts KK since they’re somewhat similar, except Davis is a little taller but not as efficient offensively. Agree he’d be ranked higher. Maybe the move to Oak Hill helps him with his ranking towards the end of this cycle. KK has been super close with Moody for years.
There’s talk of McBride joining us but paying his own way for a semester or so. We’re still in wait and see mode on Kyree, but who knows with that kid wtf he’s going to do
We'll see if McBride decides to do that. He was upset KU brought in Harris late & was surprisingly behind Christian Braun heading into the season. He didnt care that much about NCAA stuff he just saw his playing time disappearing. Either he learns from the adversity and becomes a better player, or he keeps moving on looking for minutes. Also, yeah who knows what hell Walker will do.
except i have my doubts on self being able to cobble together competitive teams like roy did in that period (thank you marcus paige and brice johnson)
I think he can put a competitive tournament level team together in 2020, but not sure about 2021. Not a title contender by any means. It mostly depends on who leaves vs who stays. Sort of like this season. If both Agbaji & DeSousa leave then it gets much harder. My money is that Agbaji leaves & Silvio stays.
I said it was a rumor. This Barnes commitment came out of nowhere, he had just cancelled a visit elsewhere to set up one to Kentucky this weekend.
Michigan could have a huge few next weeks. Isaiah Todd to um on Thursday, sounds like Moses moody will decide between Arkansas and Michigan in the next few weeks and it sounds like um and duke will split Dickinson(likely Michigan) and Mark Williams(likely duke) over the next few weeks.
With Cunningham seemingly headed to UK does UNC get Thompson now? I know OU is the home school but why suffer for one year when you can play with the mega class that UNC is putting together?
I think he's being sold on being the man @ OU vs being a cog at UNC. If KU wasnt toxic right now he would have ended up in Lawrence bc his dad played for Self. They were in a good spot before NCAA announcement. While a good player I'm also not sure Thompson is a One/Done.
Starting to sound more and more like we may sweep the “in state” kids Davonte Davis Moses Moody KK Robinson Jaylin Williams Chris Moore
Not even, sure. Just seems like he’s not on the same level. I can’t hardly keep any of these guys straight though.
word is cade has started to recruit on uk's behalf bryce thompson should decide in a few weeks and it seems to be ou or unc. ziaire williams could be a fall decision and is usc or unc hate missing on cade but a class of kessler, sharpe, love, thompson, williams and kerwin walton would be pretty terrific
#Michigan Wolverines #Duke Blue Devils Does fsu have a shot with dickenson? It's kinda weird seeing fsu visiting some of these elite 21 kids. They have always recruited pretty well, but rarely have they tried to mix it up with the blue bloods.
Sounds like he’s looking for playing time and considering FSU May be his best path - assuming Michigan lands Isaiah Todd tonight.
