I noticed on his 247 he only has like 10 offers. That can’t be right. This kid is ridiculous. He’s clearly better than his competition.
Chris Johnson is released from his letter of intent before KU summer session starts. It was mutual as he wasn't going to see the court time anytime soon and he only averaged 6pt/game @ Monteverde last season. https://247sports.com/Article/Chris-Johnson-Kansas-requests-release-NLI-209281882/
tbh i saw your comment and was waiting on the tweet to load because i just assumed zayden had decommitted too
i think he’ll be fine assuming he’s a two and done guy but don’t think he’s remotely ready to be an impact guy as a reclass.
we woulda taken him in either class but the gist i got is that he was unc if he stayed in 24 and a reclass would be elsewhere. idk he’s 20 mins from campus and visited a ton so maybe it’s a bit of an upset. pretty sure his mom is an alum too honestly thought uva would be the main team. idk tho
i get all you dorks just started following basketball two years ago but that’s no excuse to be ignorant imo
there'd be 2-3 guys at the 4 ahead of a kid who isn't physically ready for this level and a coach who's shown he won't play guys if he doesn't trust them regardless of their potential, which in this case is pretty high, just go easy on him next year
You won’t find many people in NC who think he’s ready to play a big role in a major conference next year. kind of an odd recruitment really. There was some beef between his camp and Drake Powell’s that complicated things for UNC. Im also not sure UNC was all in on taking him in ‘23. He quietly took another visit to NC State last week but we don’t have any ships. going to be really interested to see how he does next year.
yeah after the gg debacle, i am sure hubert paid lip service to a reclass but definitely wasn’t something preferred. ignoring hubert’s idiocy about playing a bench, he would have been buried behind multiple guys here which wasn’t appealing to them obviously. he’s not ready to contribute year 1 but obviously you take him as a reclass regardless instead of risking him going elsewhere
