the national media going into overdrive to say how duke was the underdog for the boozer twins and its only because of how great of a recruiter scheyer is that they got them is hilarious. shameless stuff
Fwiw i believe its against cba rules in the nba and nfl for owners to participate in nil. Greg penner and matt ishibia stepped away from stanford and msu collectives for that reason.
Of course they were an underdog to sign two legacy recruits where one of them is named after the Duke basketball arena...
Jeff Goodman is an alcoholic who will repeat anything he hears but with that said the number is still absurd, around 4M total package value is what’s been out there for a while
There was an awful lot of hedging in that "$7-9 million" statement. I'll believe any of these kids are going to get paid anywhere from 2-4x as much as their head coaches when I see it.
7-9M would be one of if not the most expensive roster in CBB this season, let alone one player. I do think Dybantsa can and should get a ton, he’s very legit
Yeah, it has nothing to do with the kid. But how many head coaches would even want to sign up for a FR getting paid more than them? That seems destined for failure.
IMO If he is really 6'-7" Izzo should be a lot smaller in that graphic. Get your shit together Tipton.
Of some note in the current recruiting landscape, trilly missed this prediction. He tweeted a ucla gif this morning
Dusty starting to heat up with this guy and Winters Grady in the last week or so. UM also looking pretty strong for Trey McKenney and are hoping to land the plane on Xavion Staton over BYU and UNLV.
I’ve read that one is purely a bidding war and he’s going to go to whoever pays him the most money. It might be tech.
Outside of Peterson KU's been saving most of their cash for portal guys. It might depend on how much Adidas wants to back them.
I could see it being Tech. By all accounts we don’t have much NIL for basketball, and we lose most of our roster after this season so we are hesitant to use what we have on 1 or 2 guys. Pearl likes portal guys who tend to stick around too. So I doubt we win any big bidding war but we might help drive the price up.
