This week almost made me forget about football. Being a Cane fan doesn't help either.
corso just fucking spiked a fish
For some reason I'm constantly surprised at how ripped Joel McHale is.
hey look, a good guest picker
That was great.
I had no idea he played college football.
Wouldn't even be in the tent.
guests just ripping corso now
"lee i don't even know what that sentence was"
Hahaha "Lee they aren't even playing Army. What???"
corso gets more senile by the week
My lord. Washington deserves to win simply because of how badass their helmets are tonight
that I never hear coming to your city again
That’s just the anthem for this year, not the new Gameday song. Coming to your City will still be the Gameday opening. Sorry friend.
That's just the song they're going to use for highlight bumpers like that stupid "remember me for centuries" song. Has nothing to do with Gameday.
Imagine Dragons is garbage. Corso should have been put out to pasture ten years ago.
That covers it for now.
Coming To Your City doesn't annoy me anymore, don't think I've heard it outside of Game Day in over a decade so all it does now is signal the beginning of another fall Saturday
i'm assuming they are South Bend for week one. I am not as excited as I used to be.
They've used it for what...15 years? Not to mention it was the replacement to bubba sparxxx's magnum opus, which was insulting to begin with
Maybe but I would guess they are holding off on ND for the FSU game. 25 year anniversary of the 93 game which was the first time game day went on site. If ND and FSU are any good it’s a lock they’ll be at ND that week.
Bring back bubbaaaa
I did not think about that. Makes a lot of sense. I just think the khaki pants intrigue has and will make that game huge. Also Marquee games are hard to find in week one this year.
Because it’s a lot more interesting than any notre dame game
Corso is basically a cartoon character at this point. College football’s version of Gruden
Notre dame football does not move the needle. Will Grier and David sills do
Of course Bubba's was the best, I actually still blast that opening weekend every year, but it's not coming back. While out of context CTYC is awful, it's become so ingrained as a college football institution that just thinking about it, like I am right now, gets the juices flowing, because I know what hearing it means. It'd take years for some other shitty song to evoke that kind of response.
I look at it like the cheesy theme of a sitcom you love.
thats a bad example but he has a point. The average college football fan doesnt care about ND half as much as the sports media thinks they do.
Two of the most rabid fan bases in college with one of the best offenses is a bad example of a matchup people want to see? Well ok then
Now how am I supposed to put a little ting in my tang tang, come along?
I literally said In my second post that Harbaugh was the draw, it’s a massive story and likely the best game of week one.
WVU-UT is a fine matchup but in Charlotte? Gameday should be banned from neutral sites. Hey, check out the parking lot around this corporate NFL stadium
Now that I post that I answer my own question. ESPN has headquarters in Charlotte. Lazy fucks. This is like when the newspaper runs "best of" editions so they don't have to write new shit that week
I would assume Atlanta for Auburn-Washington. Would rather it be on a beautiful campus though.
The coonskin cap bowl!
At least they get the two most overhyped/overrated teams out of the way in week 1.
It's obviously the most intriguing game of the first week. Should they go to a neutral site game between Bama and Lamar Jackson's old team? Or should they go to Washington at Auburn at a neutral site? I get your joke, but come on homey.
And sadly coming to South Bend is a big deal, they hate promoting games that are not on their networks, which is understandable.
Most intriguing for you, maybe. I look at both and know that neither of them can contend for the playoff. I look at UW vs AU and think both could. That's a much better and more important game. They are going to South Bend bc of the names involved, not the quality of the teams. That happens a lot with those two programs.
According to espn fpi nd is favoured in all its games. The route to the playoffs is not unlikely at all. More likely than auburn for sure. Michigan last year with a decent offense couldve also been in. Not saying udub au is irrelevant or anything like it but acting its a bigger game in importance is stretching it. That doesnt even consider that neutral site games blow for gameday
You've got your SEC lenses on man. ND-Aub would be a push imo. Michigan-Washington as well (I'd lean UM). But environment matters, if they have the choice they should go to a campus game where the fans are within 3 hours of each other. This is a no brainer (and note, again, they do not like coming to ND because they are not promoting their brand).
UW and AU are both ranked higher than UM or ND. They should go to the best game.
