We literally had 8 forwards by the end of our home series against you. Congratulations on co-champions.
It was actually the first game we ended with 8 forwards. Nevers, Pahlsson and Falloon all missed the series with injury. Wood was in Canada for the World juniors team (although he was back the second night). Then Michel (who never plays) took a game misconduct in the first game. We did move Begley (who never plays) from D to F to fill out a 3rd line. Cal Thomas was out from the D as well.
Penn State @ Michigan should be a fun series this weekend. PSU is In a tough spot on the bubble but can probably secure a berth to the tournament with a series win. Those teams have had some fun games already too.

Spoiler The MN State Hockey tournament is that time of year when the North hates the metro, the metro hates the private schools and everyone hates Edina. Likely without knowing it, you’ve all been subjected to the hate within the state through Adam Banks aka “cake eater.”

14 is a weird spot. Before sweeping Michigan we were 14 and were considered last team in, but I think that was assuming minimal upsets.
I wouldn’t want to be on that spot. I haven’t paid much attention this year but I know there is at least one autobid stealing a spot. That means 2 upsets and you’re out. We have missed at higher than 14 in PWR.

2 weekends off is worse than 2 games in 3 weekends. I had not anticipated that downside. I really dislike the B1G playoff/tourney format with 7 teams. Spreading it over 3 weeks has its issues.
We let in some bad goals, got behind, and they clogged the middle of the ice happy to sit on a lead. Even with them doing that, we had about 3x as many good scoring chances over the weekend but couldn’t score.
Rematch in the Women’s Frozen Four. Wisconsin scored with 0:24 to go to beat Minnesota for the WCHA championship. Ohio State and Cornell face off in the early matchup.
