We don’t have significant NIL money and we lost transfers playing big roles on other teams (Denver, SCSU & Wisconsin). I can’t think of a single transfer in on this year’s roster (maybe a backup goalie).
All 4 B1G teams tied or set a record for victory margin in a regional. Minnesota tied the record at +7. Ohio State played next and matched it. Penn State won by 8. Michigan played last and won 11-1.
Yeah same with Michigan. Tech’s average age on their team is like 46. I have no sympathy for those teams.
BU v Cornell at 4 ET Minny v SCSU 6:30 ET BU should handle Cornell easily, and Minny has an interesting matchup with St. Cloud but they should win too. Single hockey game randomness caveats abound with the shoulds.
Gophers one of the softest 1 seeds I can remember. After every whistle they’re doing chickenshit stuff.
BU advances, Cornell played a tough game scoring with less than 30 seconds left to make it 2-1 but couldn't find the equalizer. Minny up after the 1st 1-0, looking to meet BU in Tampa.
Minnesota was getting outplayed by St. Cloud a good bit of the 3rd, and had an opportunity to tie with a wide open net but failed to capitalize. Then Lacombe, with aid of screen, sniped a dagger off a faceoff win and put Minny up 3-1. From there Minny put clamps on and SCSU never really had a chance after that.
Good game. I wish we didn’t have a region loaded with MN teams. I would have preferred a different opponent but I’m happy how it ended.
Looking forward to it. NCAA can eff off with the regionals as has been heavily covered, but good to see the PSU turnout. Already sounds like a good atmosphere.
It is very much bullshit that Michigan got placed in a region where Penn State has essentially home ice.
Should be a fun 3rd period. Your John Wick, Luke Hughes looks pretty tilted rn so you've got that going for you. His body language is bad and smashing his stick on ice after shifts.
