I didn't realize Lindgren caused the holding penalty to call a TD back, two dropped TD passes, and a few other holding calls that brought big plays back but yep, let's blame Lindgren. Low hanging fruit.
Awwww, that's cute. You can come unpack my house for me if you'd like. Take a nap baby boy and dream of those 8 wins.
We left 14 points on the board by two wr dropping TD passes that hit them in their hands and had a holding call bring back a TD. Those 3 plays lost the game.
Absolutely not, but since they're young, I think they'll be more fun to watch. Go into this season understanding it will be brutal at times and simply look for future bright spots.
Have been hearing that there will be some offensive staff shakeup after this year and it's probably the person everyone least expects (no not Bernardi...that I've heard at least)
Yep from what I've heard he's unhappy that his contract hasn't been extended yet and doesn't have the best relationship with MacIntyre. We'll see what happens because this same person also said RG is the one who hired Chev but I don't buy that just like I never bought the Leavitt narrative that some tried to play.
Yeah when I heard that my first thought was well, your WR's have been horribly disappointing and so has the offense. If those units had lived up to the expectations (so far, there's still a lot of time left) I don't think he'd have the contract extension issue.
Seems like the more I hear, the more I realize that HCMM might be really hard to work for. Chev leaving would be catastrophic with boosters.
He might be but you also have quite a few staff members who have followed him and stayed with him for 5+ years
Well it's not like those guys who have stuck with him for 5+ years have had any other options. Anyone with other options have moved on and seems Chev would fall more into that category. Would hate to see a Buff leave when we still have useless SJSU guys still around.
Not like those guys played a big role in last year's success or anything nor did they have to follow MacIntyre to CU or stick around for 5 years. I do not get the negativity towards this staff given last year.
Yes, last year we had a dream season, yet it still remains no one was clamoring to take any of the San Jose guys off our hands. We lost the assistant that had the largest single roll in that turnaround. And you say they didn't have to follow mac or stick around 5 years. What the fuck else were they going to do? Stay at San Jose where they'd be fired by now or follow Baer to UNLV? Praising someones loyalty when the alternative is taking a shittier job or being unemployed is ridiculous. I love the Buffs and am behind Mac but its ok to be critical of the fact that the entire coaching staff has looked very lackluster this year and some of these guys wouldn't have a job anywhere if it weren't for Mac's loyalty. The idea that Chev, a true buff and probably our best recruiter, may leave is disheartening when we have other guys on staff that seem to be less important to the program.
So because we didn't hear anything publically that means that no one had other offers or any other schools looking? LaRussa got a promotion to ST Coordinator, Walters got a promotion to OC, and Clark left and while it wasn't a promotion it makes sense cause he has been with MacIntyre for a long time and probably needed to branch out to achieve his goals. Chev is a good recruiter, but do you think his units performance warrants an extension this early? I don't. If the WR pick it up before the end of the season, yeah he deserves the extension, but as of now its in wait and see mode.
I doubt there was some big demand for some of our other assistants we didn't know about, but regardless Chev's WR and OC performance certainly don't warrant an extention on their own, but I believe when you take into account his recruiting, I'd much rather give him the extension he wants than risk losing him meanwhile being stuck with guys like lindgren who don't seem to recruit or coach well. Chev at least has potential, we know what we are getting with some of these other guys after 5 years.
Man what a formula for explaining away things. A coach has been with Mac forever and it's because Mac is such a great coach to coach for and has earned their loyalty, rather than a lack of other options. But if someone leaves for a non-promotion it's because position coaches need to branch out to achieve their goals. Mac cannot be questioned and is God on earth.
No it was more that you, nor I, nor any of us for that matter, have that amount of transparency so it's dumb to act like you know for certain that they had no other options. This whole thing started when someone said that MacIntyre might be hard to work for, which may be true, but he has also had multiple coaches stay with him for 5+ years. But yep, MacIntyre sucks, his staff sucks, and everyone needs to be fired.
Bernardi still has a job. Whoever is responsible for that should most certainly be admonished repeatedly.
"This coaching staff is awesome. This team is awesome. Everything is awesome." UnicornDickslam probably
I wish I did. I had a dinner and didn’t get home til late, so I only watched the 1st half last night. Finished this morning, and ruined my Sunday by 8:30am.
I watched Mac’s post game presser. One of his comments was along the lines of “well, we have at least 7 games left”. No, Mac, you have at least 6 left. If you don’t get your teams shit together, there will not be a 7th. I don’t see better than 5-7, personally.
