How sour is Bienemy about the Embree debacle? IIRC, there was some animosity at the end. I don’t know if I’d take the job in his shoes. One more year with Mahomes probably secures him some legit NFL shots.
My concerns about EB are things that I will not find the answers to. Does he want to be around 18-23 year old kids all day, every day, and spend his off season selling a vision. The same sort of questions we ask about every nfl guy. Lots of chatter about him maturing... It is certainly possible he prefers dealing with paid, grown men over high school and college athletes. If he is the choice, I would also wonder about the staff he puts together. I think if Sark or Chev or a college guy came in I would be less concerned about their readiness for the college-style HC position (and probably more concerned about other items). Certainly not opposed to EB, just have no idea of he wants to lead a program in a college environment. And I think it is probably fair to question his ability to do so.
Hi, yes, I would like to file a complaint. While I admire George and team keeping their searches entirely silent, it really makes it more difficult to argue with other idiots on the internet. Thank god for the homeboard, it keeps the stupid idea tank full.
I’m surprised he’s taking him with that type of salary pool. However, the timing just sucks. worried what type of assistants we’re gonna find at this stage of the game.
Definitely. I am expecting both coordinators to be out, but we should have a decent shot at keeping the position coaches we want (because there may not be as many openings at this point). It is decent timing to grab a couple NFL coaches and bring them in -- probably a better window for that group. But it has pitfalls.
Bielema McElwain Mora Chiv If this was your list, pick your poison. I think I prefer Mora but fuck I don't know man.
Of the names mentioned, Sark makes the most sense and has the most upside. But there is the whole Sark after Dark stuff........
“All that written, Colorado will have options to find its third coach in as many years. Sources have indicated that CU hoped to speak with (in no particular order) Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, former Wisconsin and Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema, Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain, Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson, Cal head coach Justin Wilcox, as well as current interim head coach Darrin Chiaverini.”
Wilcox is a new name. Hippie on Hippie crime. That's the not first time I've seen Anderson mentioned and he's intriguing. He and Kap were at UNC together.
One mans opinion CU could do a LOT worse than a guy who has multiple 10 win seasons and top 15 recruiting classes in the PAC 12. I realize more could be said about Bielemas resume but that does not seem like a cultural fit. As far as retreads go, Mora is average to slightly above IMO, certainly no worse than Sark or Kiffin
at this point, I’ll be happy as long as it’s not Bert or the shark fucker. eh, who am I kidding? I’ll probably end up disappointed like CU football always leaves us.
I have no fucking clue, I am nearly out of whiskey, and I can't wait until Bert finishes the job and puts me down for good.
I’m hoping it’s not Calhoun, but I’d definitely take him over Bert and the shark fucker. I’d take pretty much anyone over those two if that wasn’t already apparent. My concerns with Calhoun would be staff and recruiting.
