What's the oldest player thats ever been a legitimate contributor? I know I've seen those old guys who are like in their 40s get their second shot and get in for a play at a small school, but I can't think of anyone ever playing who was in their 30s and a starter.
I don't see it ever working anywhere except for a kicker/punter. I don't really know how to judge a kickers film but the ball seemed to be cleaner than anything we've had lately.
Brian Howell, who covers CU athletics for The Daily Camera, had this to say in a chat yesterday when asked the following - "I hate to even go there....but does the page now turn on this Tumpkin thing- with the team and with recruits---and with McIntyre? ...or what is the long term follow out in your opinion." Howell: "I think the page turns for the most part. Before the results of the investigation were public - but late in the process - I talked to a father of one of the current players and asked how much the players talk about this, or worry about it. He said not at all. He said it didn't seem to be on the minds of the players, from what his son would tell him. So, i think for the team, it's very easy to move on. For the recruits, I think now that MacIntyre's deal is in place, they'll be fine. In my opinion, the main long-term impact I could see is whether this whole situation has soured MacIntyre enough on CU that he'll leave the first chance he gets. I can't imagine he's real happy with how things went, and having his reputation take a bit of a hit. So, if this has soured him on CU (and while he won't talk about it, I believe it has to some degree), I could see him not lasting the five years he has on his deal." Anyone know if there is any truth to this? It is something I have worried about the past 6 months or so and by that, I mean that I've been worried about the fact that CU let HCMM take all of heat publicly for how things were handled in regards to Tumpkin, when in reality it was the school (for their shitty policy which HCMM was simply following) and DiStefano (for being DiStefano aka a little weasel that always seems to end up fine no matter how badly he screws up b/c he finds someone else to blame it on) that deserved to be taking heat from the media - not HCMM or RG. And while I know it wasn't near as big of a story as the "Scandal That Never Was" in the early 2000's, I can't imagine HCMM has appreciated seeing his name dragged through the mud / having to answer questions about it out on the recruiting trail.
Hello Got a free ticket for the Texas State game this year. Gonna be sitting with some CU season ticket holders. Any recommendos on what to do during/after the game? How's the tailgating? How many edibles should I bring so I can trip after we go down by 40? etc
Tailgaiting probably won't be great since I think it's a early afternoon game against a small conf. opponent, best bet before the game would be go to The Village, The Buff, or The Sink and grab some food and drinks (not sure if The Village has alcoholic drinks though). There are a few beer gardens that you can go to; one in the IPF and the other in Balch (West side of the stadium) that will have TVs on with other games going. After the game, and depending how old you are, I'd wonder down to Pearl St and hit some of the bars.
I don't think he'll leave until Jay graduates, but I could see him potentially leaving for an SEC or ACC job after. However, if that happens, it probably means we've continued to stay relevant. The jobs attractiveness will be the polar opposite of where it was after Embree was canned.
Seems like recruiting had finally improved the last couple years and it was fair to expect an even larger uptick after last season but the class seems mostly uneventful, but I also dont really follow recruiting much anymore. I guess the efforts of the local early commits last year were more important than thought. We dont have those same guys going after other recruits for us.
Fucking hard to find any "colorado" threads on this board so I guess this one will do. Pretty sure anyine living in this state is too busy doing kickass shit and could care less about posting on a message board. Currently Rockies game with Elk Brats, garlic fries, lical IPA's and gummies. Am I doing it right?
Oh lawd, 3 gummies deep and rolling into Red Rocks for a show. So happy wife is sober ans we have a shuddle.
The recency bias by the media is strong. Remember when Hawaii beat us a few years ago and everyone was talking about how much better they were from the previous season? This seems to be the case again here. Like the media is aware that our D goes against more talented guys in practice every day on both sides of the ball right? And also that Mac is 3-1 vs CSU and has an average scoring margin of +9 despite the 14 point loss in 14?
How fucking dumb do you have to be to get suspended during the season and presumably a few days before the first game against your rival? That was my first thought, hope it's him and someone on offense. Hope Fisher isn't like Adkins when it comes to injuries.
Like you're a 6th year senior, likely 24 years old, pull your head out of your ass and act like a fucking adult. It could be minor like missing curfew or something, still doesn't matter.
I would assume something minor would lead to a no start. Missing the entire game? that I would assume is something more.
I do remember Adam, or another well connected guy, say that the captains and coaches are really cracking down on discipline. I don't really disagree with ya, but I guess it could be to set an example to quit fucking around and take this shit serious.
I was a big fan of Kaiser out of HS, but for all the hype Isaac Miller had gotten I was expecting him to be 2nd LT after Fall camp and for tonight. Just keep pounding the rock with Lindsay, force the D to creep up then hit the deep ball.
