Well the starting LT tore his acl so yeah, shit might get ugly...again
You can go fuck yourself with a rusty nail
This game should be a battle, is it likely that we just wear these fuckers out at some point? No question they'll come ready for a fight.
Anyone have a stampede login I could use to browse off of?
We need a win so badly tomorrow.
We got this.
We might, but that isn't stopping me from drunkenly tweeting anyone and everyone about firing @coach9s
That. Was. Awesome.
How was that not a penalty?
is Adkins injured
That's the 2nd Buff to do something absolutely fucking retarded in OT today.
Fuck you CSU!!
Sour diesel and busch light
Team won a game they would have lost the past five years. Fuck the rams and fuck you, I'm going to have another victory cigarette aND i quit a year ago.
Fuck CSU and fuck their fans.
Damn near got in a fight pulling someone off a friend.
No hiccups tomorrow, right?
That would set a new low.
Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying this, but I also feel almost guilty.
Also, I want every starter we can pull gone after this quarter. Especially Sefo. And for once, it's not even because I want to see someone else play QB.
Next weekend is gonna be live.
Maybe Oregon just retires after this one.
They're going to have a lot of frustration to take out on lil ol' CU.
Yeah, or not.
We get our best commitment in forever and not post about it? Is that what's hot in the streets right now?
Getting Watts is huge. love it hope Julmisse follows
I have to think he will unless we just totally shit the bed next weekend - wasn't he friends with Huntley as well? IDK
As for Oregon, I think one of two things happens: 1) they come out royally pissed off and play us the way they should have played Utah (in which case we maybe get slapped around a bit) or 2) they are still in a funk giving us a chance at scoring an upset (though it would be an upset that has lost its 'luster' after the beating they took from the kinda Mormons this past week)
Huntley and Julmisse are friends, they both met Watts this summer on their UVs in Boulder.
We need to come out smoking and put the doubt in Oregon. And then hold the fuck on.
Who are they starting at QB? The young kid (Alie) they put in at the end of the game looked like the best of the three to me, or at least the most gifted athlete among them. Hopefully this does not become another 2012 Hogan and Stanford situation, not that I am expecting it to be. It's just Lockie has had all the opportunities to be the heir apparent and has not delivered while Adams is hurt and does not appear to be overly athletic.
With that said, we need to control Freeman. I just don't think that we have the LB personnel to do it consistently. I almost want to see Severson out there this week, just because he's so much faster than Gamboa. Neither are particularly formidable tacklers at this point.
What the shit is wrong with Addison this time?
I mean asides from him being the palest Ethiopian I've ever seen... (<-- inappropriate reference to his inability to put on weight)
Ordered some new Buffs gear yd - pretty pumped since most of the stuff I own is from my freshmen year at CU (I'm now on the verge of turning 31 so I'd say I got some good mileage out of my old stuff). That and it'll give me some stuff I can wear to the office to offset the plethora of CSU shit people wear.
I just wish they had more stuff that fit the colors of the new jerseys, especially a gold polo...
Though I do have to give CSU props for going out and getting that Under Armour sponsorship - I could never take them seriously wearing all that Russell Athletics stuff or whatever. Just something I have kind of noticed, but if you aren't sponsored by Nike or UA, chances are your school's jerseys and apparel look cheap (or in the case of schools sponsored by Adidas, like Louisville and the jerseys they wore last week, look like complete and utter shit).
He had mono last year, which can depress the immune system for long periods of time after it's been contracted. He could easily be suffering from the lingering effects of that which has caused him to contract a number of other more common illnesses like what's been cited previously. He also got concussed pretty hard against Oregon State, that was a blindside helmet right to the chin. Between that and periodic bouts of immune deficiency it's plausible that those conditions have held him back a bit.
People have dogged him pretty hard because he's not playing at an AA level like he did as a frosh but most teams usually try to send double teams his way in the run game whenever possible. Think it's been shown to this point that the other LBs can be dealt consistently just using an FB or TE, let alone an OG.
I think CU is going to win tonight. Cody Hawkins is better than any QB we have on roster (assuming Vernon's finger is still broken), the "spare any change?" bum who walks around the hill in the michigan sweatshirt could put together a better defensive game plan than Don Pellum, and the locker room is about as united as Syria.
I expect Oregon to run, run, run, run. Lots of Royce plus Charles Nelson and Bralon Addison working the outside on screens, flats, fly sweeps, options. No idea what the fuck the defense will do. Strangely, they looked pretty good in the first quarter last week (and only gave up 380 yards to MSU) but the offense's 3 and outs kept putting them on the field and they got gassed. Nelson Spruce is going to humiliate Arrion Springs (#1) who was a huge recruit out of Dallas but is just fucking terrible.
But like someone said above, one of two things will happen: Either Oregon will be super pissed and angry and they'll come out looking for blood, or they will throw in the towel on the season and just sleep walk through the game like UCLA did last year and get upset. I think it's going to be the latter... none of these guys are used to being out of the championship picture and I think that there's been a lot of complacency around the program. Both coaches and players seem to have developed the idea that they just had to put on the uni and show up to the game and they would win. From my perspective, I hope this wakes them the fuck up and reminds them that they can't loaf through practice and film study and just automatically win. But I don't think they're going to fix all of their problems in a week and I think there's a lot of finger pointing in the locker room.
I fucking hopeople so.
Flew in for the weekend. Been pounding coffee for an hour. It's going to be a long day. I'm ready.
Interesting take, thanks. I have no idea what to expect. It's hard to imagine Oregon squandering so much talent, but I guess it does happen. I think ESPN showed a stat that 5 of the last 6 heisman winning programs lost 5 games the year following that player's departure from the team. So I suppose it does happen. Oregon just has so much speed and really has done admirably featuring that talent over the years.
One thing David Shaw has done well at Stanford is feed the rock to his best player, usually an RB. Helfrich would be wise to follow the same philosophy in feeding Freeman, as you alluded too. I don't know if CU has the players at LB to hold him down and play the speed guys on the edges.
