Rewatch seasons 1 and 2 and if you don't laugh pretty consistently at Troy Barnes then I will accept your opinion. Also, I WILL GO LISTEN TO CHILDISH GAMBINO!
No, don't get me wrong. I thought he was very funny and I wish he was still on the show. I'm just saying that Community was still hilarious even without him and his absence didn't ruin anything for me. Like I was never sitting around thinking damn, I wish Troy was here.
Ah, okay. I agree it remained hilarious. I was worried at first but they adapted and made up for the absence of the one-liners Troy had to offer. Still would have preferred he remained involved, of course.
I don't think older, maturing Troy would have been very funny. Older, maturing Annie struggled, but she was so damn hot it didn't matter.
http://www.tvinsider.com/article/20...an-harmon/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=Mike Dan harmon interview on community
I know half of the Community thread hates Glover as much as the other half loves him, but as a fan of his, it's hard to see him playing Troy in this show. His attitude in interviews, his music...it's always so...somber, even when a lot of it is really great quality. Creative stuff. I'm not so sure his departure was just about finding new avenues to display his creativity, I genuinely wonder if he could play the part of Troy anymore. I feel like it was probably becoming work to him, to play that part. Which is crazy to a lot of us because it seems like they all have so much fun. That Glover that started on Community, and even from his standup, just doesn't exist anymore.
He started in a really, really silly sketch comedy group (Derrick Comedy) and as Community and his music career picked up steam he seemed to begin to take himself more seriously. And not necessarily in a bad way because he certainly does seem to be very talented in both areas. I definitely agree it'd be hard to picture the Donald Glover of the past few years playing the same Troy Barnes we all grew to love.
Finally watched the finale, that was excellent. If that is it for the show, that was really well done. Laughed quite a bit and the story was just good. Hopefully we get a movie of some sort to finish it off.
I really appreciate that the creators of this movie are taking a firm stance against false advertising.
so i loved seasons 1-3 and stopped watching in season 4 when they went to the dr who convention thing if i rewatch the series, can i skip season 4 or is there canon stuff in there (or does it get better)?
This was tweeted out today. Joel McHale @joelmchale 3h3 hours ago Easy sugar-bear, Community is not canceled. #QuestionMarkSeasonsAndaMovie
Weird. There was an article earlier today where McHale said it was canceled because the actors cost too much now.
Danny Pudi and I just shared a theater (with maybe 150 other people) to watch his pal Donald Glover in The Martian.
I still hold that Britta turned into the funniest character circa season 4. If you disagree, you're the worst.
You're right. They lost $42MM on three combined shows. http://variety.com/2015/digital/new...issa-mayer-narrower-product-focus-1201622483/ Their CFO just singled out Community.
Well in fairness it is Yahoo. I don't know anyone that uses Yahoo for anything aside from Fantasy Football and they are even garbage at that. So not really fair they lay the blame of losing that money on anyone or anything except Yahoo as a whole.
Did Yahoo have a TV app? I never saw one and just never wanted to watch on my computer. That might have helped.
Yahoo Screen is the app. not sure what it was available on - i used that to watch on my tv with my roku. but it's just yahoo being yahoo - they were going to lose money on that thing from the get go
Gotcha. That does make more sense. I didn't see it on my Samsung TV and never bothered to look again.
Despite it featuring Sci-fi shit and Milana Vayntrub, Other Space was garbage. I got through maybe 3 episodes and it was just flat out bad tv
