Honduras/CR draw 0-0 Canada has been better than Mexico, but they got hit on a counter. And Canada scores right as I post this.
Oh, so you're telling me you couldn't hear the "Puto" chant ref? Tell me how? Okay. So it was delayed, but they did it.
Top 3 still top 3. Another big visitor’s point for Canada. Two toughest fixtures away at US and Mex out of the way and managed to draw in each. They’d have signed up for that before the Octagon but they were dangerously close to snatching 3 points in each. They may end up atop the table when all is said and done. That opening home draw to Honduras seems more and more of an anomaly for them El Salvador’s win breaks it wide open for that race for 4th.
Canada needs to pull 3 points out of Jamaica. Have a few starters out now with yellow card suspensions.
Again the results went Canada’s way with Honduras and Costa Rica drawing and El Salvador beating Panama.
I think the draw is what it is. Heavy rotation due to injury + suspension playing away on a tough pitch = I’m fine with the result. Yeah we should have scored but so should have Jamaica. But as you say, it makes Wednesday a must win. Away draws are only ok if they’re supplemented by home wins. I also wish they changed the yellow card accumulation rule. It’s a bit ridiculous to suspend guys after two yellow cards when most countries are still missing guys due to covid travel restrictions.
Point on the road is always acceptable and while we controlled most of the play we didn’t capitalize on a few quality chances. But Jamaica had a couple as well. Really wish Arfield had been playing. can’t stand Piette. Absolute butcher out there who can’t play more than 10 minutes of mop up duty.
Saw this tweet which basically sums up my feelings. Jamaica is a bit of a mess now, but they still brought on a former EPL striker and a good Championship player as attacking subs, while we brought on two MLS bench players and Charles-Andreas Brym. They’re certainly not a cake walk away from home given the team we fielded.
In a group chat a bunch of my buddies were saying this would be 3 points no problemo. But I knew Canada didn’t have its best eleven available and a draw would be just fine. Could have taken the points but a win on Wednesday and it will be another successful window. Missing the game which I’m pissed about… but it’s my sons 7th birthday and the gears I would have caught for not being here wasn’t worth it.
I don’t think there’s a single team in the region whose fans should go into a road match thinking it’ll be an easy 3pts tbh.
BTW I didn't think it was going to be an easy win. I thought it was a winnable game and we had the chances in the match
A win wasn’t necessary but 4 points are needed from that Jamaica/Panama stretch. The away draw isn’t the end of the world, obviously, but it makes the upcoming Panama game that much more important. And your son’s bday > the mediocre soccer that was on display.
No the boy turns 7 tomorrow. Already had a birthday party with his friends and gone to two sets of grandparents to receive gifts. Was supposed to go to Toronto tomorrow but had to give up my tickets… I got played.
