Don't see the point in moving up 4 spots pre-draft. Maybe while the draft is underway and we see how things are unfolding and we are targeting a certain player. Seems dumb to do that now.
Dallas is taking a pass rusher or DB. We might wanna move in front of them if we think they're taking the pass rusher we want
We dont have many holes. If a 4th allows us to get a stud like Lamp or a falling Reuben Foster do it and dont think twice.
Obviously. The original point though was they were talking about making this trade pre-draft. It's a no brainer once the draft is underway and someone we want is sitting there.
Could see doing it early just to have the value for draft day trades to move up spots But that might mean trading away someone on the roster
I dont get that. We're at a position of strength. Our roster affords us to go multiple directions - why not take what falls to us....let alone look at trading back to improve our positioning in future years. Im just generally against mortgaging the future to move up. We must be in love with something, someone. Hopefully its Reuben Foster, Jon Allen, etc. Someone that has top 10 value but drops to where we can afford to move up.
I still don't think it's a good idea. Has mortgaging the future to move up ever worked for anyone? We are in a spot to take the best available at any position of need we have. We can probably get a pass rusher or Lamp at 31. I just don't see this being a good idea in any way.
For me it has nothing to do with the zbrowns. It's impossible to know who we would've picked so I don't even worry about that. I just think a HOFer is better output than we would've gotten.
We Quinn now, though, where we used to Dimitroff. Who would you want at 10 that will match a clear cut freak of nature like Julio? We got him at 6. Who are you taking at 10 and potentially giving up next year's 1st plus other picks?
Houston had to give up next year's 1 to move up 15 spots. If we got to the 20th pick and then traded up, the price tag would drop quite a bit.
