Sign the best guard available in Fa. Draft yet another pass rusher. I’d draft an OT as well, or OG. Need a stud pass catching TE. Get rid of that FB.
While I think it's typically too soon to jump the gun on firing a first year OC it's hard to argue against it when you have the blueprint and weapons that this fuck had in his first year. I also hate to see Matt Ryan have yet another new OC 4 out of the last 5 years.....Fuck Sark.
I mean our D held the other team to under 16ppg for the last 8 games of the year? They are in no way the issue. The problem is with O playcalling and nothing else.
Our offensive play calling is fucking garbage. Sark is a dumbass who needs to go back to college ball
Eagles lost their QB and LT and are 1 game from the super bowl. If that happened to us we'd get shutout every game
With this team being on a ticking clock, you just have to react quickly. If we give him another year, it may start to be too late after that. The O showed almost no signs whatsoever of being elite this year, and we’ve seen that they can be. There are no indicators that the O is “close”. Not moving on is just wasting a year. We needed 17 pts and that’s it. Hell, we only need 14 in the final 51 minutes and couldn’t get there.
Wasn’t one game this year where i felt confident that the offense would get it going. They never improved throughout the whole season
No way Quinn doesnt get rid of Sark. The best Offense in the NFL last year cant get more than 10 points. GTFO
The thing about Sark running Shannahans offense is the best part. I could understand sucking because you are forced to run someone else scheme, but they are different system guys. That was an straight up pro style Information offense for a better part of the year.
People trying to say Julio should’ve caught it. Yea probably, but he landed 1ft out of bounds anyway bc Sark cut off half the field and had him do an out to the boundary. Just full retard that entire series. The play to Ward alone was a fireable level bonehead move.
I mean the potential play calls are endless. PHI scored a TD on their 4th and goal and we didn’t. That’s the difference in the game.
That and Neal’s dick hands on the INT :(. Hard to fault someone for not catching an INT, but if he even just knocks it down, a FG wins it for us at the end.
Freaking guy had been an OC for a whopping 1 game in 10 years, and that was in college, and he lost that 1 game. He had never been an NFL OC, and had been fired as recently as 2 years ago for an alcohol problem. Perfect guy to hand the keys to the NFL’s best offense. What could go wrong?
Why the fuck is Ryan throwing in that situation? Sark needs to head back to rehab and leave this team alone. I hope every Aints and Iggles fan dies tonight so that the world is a better place.
Running the ball instead of those passes at the end of the half would've helped prevent them bring in field goal range. Add in that terrible no adjustments made 3 and out to start the half, and the full retard 3 and out between field goals and fuck sark, make him sleep outside in this 20 degree weather
This may well be a make or break decision for Quinn. Great start to his career, but I guarantee if he holds onto Sark that we don’t go anywhere next year and it’ll be a wasted year. Bring a new guy in after that and maybe there’s a learning year, then by 2020 the core of this team may not be here or may be past their prime. If he wants a championship, he’s got to move on right now.
Our roster is pretty much loaded minus guard and maybe a S. Zero excuses to not be doing more than we did this season. People bringing up year two under shanahan turning the corner and how Sark could as well, but I don’t see it at all.
Not hard to fault him for that one, it was as easy a pick as you could get but the retard jumped up and kicked the ball in the air towards the wr. You could not do any worse if you tried.
Sark doesn't deserve another year, he was wildly inconsistent. Not running the ball at all at the end there was stupid.
What is with Georgia teams not running the ball? You had a guy who averaged 7.9 yards especially when the other running back had a knee sprain. You should have ran it at least once from the 5
I agree. There were signs from shanahan in season 1. I saw no signs of anything being “close” or anything like that this year. Sark struggles to even get the right guys on the field half the time, much less call the right plays with the right players. We had multiple losses or really close wins this year where Freeman averaged over 6 YPC and had under 10 touches AND Julio had well under 10 targets. A competent OC doesn’t even let that happen once, much less multiple times. You’d never see Pitt lose a game with Bell and AB touching the ball a combined 10 times.
Quinn quote after the game. "Damn right," Quinn said after the game when asked if he felt confident in Ryan on that fourth down. "Yeah, absolutely. We're giving our shots to Matt and Julio to go for it to win the game. We didn't get the job done, but 100 out of 100 we're going to try to put the ball in those two guys' hands to try to go win it." Frustrating part is he says that, but they didn’t do it all season long with the RBs or with Julio. Doing it once doesn’t really make up for that. Really really hope he’s just being a good leader and not throwing his guy under the bus but will soon put him on said bus to unemployment.
2018 NFL Draft: Atlanta Falcons team needs, draft picks, prospects to watch With their 2017 season over, it's time for Falcons fans to turn their attention to the draft The Falcons entered 2017 with high hopes after having a Super Bowl title in their grasp but watching it slip away. But the storyline of the 2017 season was the NFC upstarts emerging from the shadows, leaving a team like the Falcons fighting for a wild card at the end of the season. How do they recapture the magic of 2016 this offseason? Let's dive in. 2018 draft picks Round 1: Atlanta Round 2: Atlanta Round 3: Atlanta Round 4: Atlanta Round 5: None Round 6: Atlanta Round 7: Atlanta The Falcons find themselves without a fifth-round pick after acquiring Ty Sambrailo from the Broncos before the beginning of the season. Sambrailo saw some action early in the season at right tackle but only played a few snaps after Ryan Schraeder returned to health. Biggest offseason needs Right guard Defensive tackle Free safety The Falcons are pretty much set on offense, but the one weak spot of the offensive line remains at right guard, where Wes Schweitzer hasn't played up to the level of his linemates. The team could also explore bringing in a better receiver at the tight end position, but Austin Hooper still has room to grow. Defensively, the Falcons are set to lose Adrian Clayborn and Dontari Poe to free agency, and while they have the depth to overcome the loss of Clayborn, particularly if rookie Takk McKinley takes over a bigger role moving forward, finding a defensive tackle to play next to Grady Jarrett should be one of the team's top priorities this offseason. The secondary remains in place, but one spot that could use an upgrade is at safety to pair with young star Keanu Neal. Prospects to watch Martinas Rankin, OT/OG, Mississippi State If he was bigger, Rankin would be a top-flight tackle prospect. On film, he wins with outstanding leverage and leg churn as a run-blocker, and because he's smaller than most left tackles, his feet are quick. Rankin could provide positional versatility for the Falcons and bolster the run game immediately, as his mobility would be an ideal match for Atlanta's zone-blocking scheme. Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson In the Dan Quinn defense, stemming from his time in Seattle, there's typically a wide, two-gapping defensive tackle next to a quick, penetrating defensive tackle (example: Grady Jarrett). Wilkins would be an ideal fit in as a block-eater up front, and he could kick over to end in certain situations. He's super strong at the point of attack and is not limited athletically. Damon Webb, S, Ohio State Webb doesn't have the range former Ohio State safety Malik Hooker did, and that's ok. Hooker was a rangy freak. Webb stepped in admirably for Hooker in 2017, as he reeled in five interceptions and defended three other passes. At around 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, he's fast to charging to the sideline to disrupt downfield passes on the perimeter.
Walter football so it's but 27. Atlanta Falcons: Justin Reid, S, Stanford The Falcons could lose Ricardo Allen in free agency, so they could target a safety to pair with Keanu Neal. The 6-foot-1, 204-pound Reid played really well in 2017, impressing NFL scouts. Sources who are tough graders said they thought Reid had first-round potential for the 2018 NFL Draft. They say that Reid doesn't have Earl Thomas-like range as a free safety or Kam Chancellor-like size as a strong safety, but he does everything well. Reid is a good free or strong safety with the ability to run and tackle. They say that he is a polished, clean, good all-around safety similar to HaHa Clinton-Dix coming out of Alabama. Reid had 99 tackles with six passes broken up and five interceptions in 2017. He totaled 57 tackles with seven breakups in 2016. The junior is the younger brother of 49ers safety Eric Reid, a first-round pick out of LSU in 2013. Pick change: previously Taven Bryan, DT/3-4DE I think I'd rather have Taven Bryan tbqh
Feels like we missed a huge opportunity in the NFC this year. With a competent oc we don't lose to Buffalo or Miami, likely win the division and have a home playoff game. With Shanahan we likely have the 1 seed and are playing the Vikings in Atl next week.
