Between this guy and Harry Douglas (he does commentary on 92.9) they could probably do a better job than the current coaching staff.
In a way, it’s almost impressive how the Falcons continue to find new ways to lose games. In Week 1, Matt Ryan threw a pair of interceptions. In Week 3, they had 16 penalties for 128 yards. And on Sunday, they pretty much did the impossible and found a way to turn Marcus Mariota into Steve Young in a 24-10 home loss to the Titans. Mariota averaged 8.4 YPA, threw three touchdowns and had no interceptions. He’d been sacked 17 times in the first three games of the season, but the Falcons failed to bring him down once. The Falcons’ offense, meanwhile, scored on its second possession and then managed only one field goal on its final nine drives. It’s probably time to stop pretending that this is a good team that just needs to get a few things ironed out. The Falcons have been outscored by 29 points on the season. In the NFC, only Washington and Arizona have worse point differentials. Even the tweets from their team account need improvement
It's not even October and this season is done. They need to bite the bullet and fire Quinn now. Wait it out with Koetter or whoever and try to make Lincoln Riley the highest paid coach in football.
Still say make Kyle Shannahan tell us no first. But yeah it’s bullshit that we are 4 weeks in and this season is already another year wasted.
I'm kind of surprised Harry Douglas is still on 92.9, would've thought he'd have gotten another shot at tv by now or gone into coaching.
I was a huge DQ supporter but he completely lost me after last year. This season is just an exclamation on that thought.
Houston QB Deshaun Watson today became the first player to pass for at least 400 yards and five touchdowns with five-or-fewer incompletions in a single game in NFL history.
Just saw a stat that only 7 teams have blitzed more than Atlanta this year, and yet we are 30th in pressure rate. We are also 30th in sack rate against pressures QBs, so we don’t even finish the job on the rare occasion that somebody does get there. That’s some impressive futility. Good job bolstering that in the off-season TD. You truly outsmarted everybody again.
