Chicken bog tips are appreciated Previous attempts were met with mixed, limited success. I don't know how to get the texture right.
Is it ok to hate the new flag in this thread? Ok cool because i think it sucks. Also isnt Tilly the bog king on here?
Whole 8pc cut chicken, pan fry it with a little butter and an onion. Take it out and debone and remove the skin. Back into the pot with sliced sausage of.your choice. Rice is a 2/1 mix with water. I season with just salt while rice is cooking, and add black pepper after its done. Bring mix to a boil, stir throughly, then low and cover for approximately 20-30. Take lidoff and stir. I like to add hot sauce to my plate. Variations include different sausage, boneless skinless thighs, yellow rice, chicken liver (purlough), and other seasonings. Tilly can chime in but I was born in Dillon and lived in Aynor for 15 years, and now Florence. Bog is life
Do you have a colorful name? The best bog makers in my life were named Tub and Conry. Leroi is pretty solid
I’ve had decent success making some in the crockpot. Highly doubt it is Tilly level but haven’t had any complaints through two batches.
Condolences accepted. I have lived in Denver and Tampa as well, so I've had a few travels mixed in for flavor. I am a fan of Cubans and Tamales as well, now.
Wow, and I thought I was well-traveled because I’ve lived in Cordova, Pelzer, and Honea Path since graduating.
my wife’s family is from pendleton so we drive through pelzer and “west” pelzer otw up there lmao what’s that about
I used to drive through Pelzer to get to my co-op while I was at Clemson. All the horror stories about the cops pulling people doing one mph over the limit had me crawling through there
It makes absolutely no sense. West Pelzer is on the 85 side of the stoplight and actually has a police force. The Pelzer side you typically don’t have to worry.
fil was born and raised up there, played baseball there/lived with his parents while doing it, graduated and bought the house next door to them mil largely indifferent about sports but huge newspring fan so i guess that makes her a clemson fan
the best thing about that place is the renowned five dollar boiled hot dogs and chilli dogs with no wiener. awesome place
somewhere on this board the chili dog with no wiener was discussed. spartanburg does the same thing and the dumbass locals defend this practice.
i was ranting as well. as a transplant from VA i really look down at people in SC for things like this. it would be one thing if they'd just agree that it is dumb and doesn't make sense, arguing in defense of the dog-less chili dog just pisses me off.
As a lifelong South Carolinian who’s lived most of his life in the Upstate, I’ll confirm that the chili dog with no hot dog is dumb. Also, Sandy’s > Skin’s. Don’t @ me.
I went to a field party in Bowman when I lived in Orangeburg (Cordova). While there, one of my friends who taught at OP ran into one of her students. I also work with an engineer from Bowman, and she’s pretty normal. Thus concludes my knowledge of Bowman.
