I think we forget if we’d ordered masks and social distancing guidelines upon reopening it would probably be a fuck load safer to go get a six pack of beer, have dinner at a restaurant outside, etc right now than it is. I’m definitely cutting back on how much I venture out for groceries etc now that Alabama is off the rails.

Okay, I've finished up my dental appointment(s) that I had to get done. A root canal on the lower right molar area and a filling that broke in the top back left. Dentists, as they are normally, were kitted out with goggles and/or face shields, fresh gloves every time they would come to me, surgical masks but pretty well-fitting from my vantage point. Still felt massively weird having to take my mask off within six feet of someone not in my household. Today with the filling had zero other patients but Wednesday with the root canal had one other patient that thankfully was just doing an examination, didn't use any tools that I heard. So it went about as well it could. Self-quarantining for the next two weeks, masks within range of gf, hope to get a test done in one of the drive thrus maybe next weekend? Would eight or nine days be too early?
In your shoes, if it was me I would end the self-quarantine after 7 days if no symptoms and no call from the dentist advising me that I had contact with an infected person.

I had an ER nurse telling me she’s been doing this and she just started bawling while describing the impact it’s having. These people are so emotionally exhausted, it fucking sucks.

Yeah, that area is a big nope for me. Los Feliz/Silverlake are fun for a change of pace, but the “desperate to be seen/feel important” types are one of the most obnoxious parts about living in/near LA. That and driving almost anywhere.
