tate reeves only cares what his biggest donors and trump think. I’m sure his biggest donors are more worried about the money they are losing then a writer dying.
did we just learn that lower tier bert thinks people can stay on unemployment for the rest of their lives? does lower tier bert also think people who get laid off right now are able to go right out there and find work again?
Has anyone heard from miles ? He said Sunday he was worried he was coming down with something and he hasn’t posted since.
Those lazy poor people amirite? And you're also saying you're ok with people starving under certain conditions
on the ex-pat discussion: 1. New Zealand - they have a questionnaire you can fill out online to easily find out if you are qualified for a visa there. I myself am considered a "highly qualified" visa applicant. So that's nice. 2. Basically anywhere in Western Europe. I work in higher education and there are a million campus affiliations with US schools. I speak passable Italian, so I guess that would be my #2 specifically, even though Italy has its own host of problems.
prob gonna have incentives for certain careers to move there too. wife and I discussed that potential a bit already, but it’s hard to pull the trigger to move so far away
I bet if companies started beating the wages that unemployment provides (paying a livable wage) then people will come back to work
So CNN gonna air all 90min of Propaganda time with Trump every day but then cut away from Pelosi 5min in?
I skipped a ton of pages but I'm pretty big on Belgium. Their investor visa is super cheap and they make amazing beer.
One of my roommates from college's dad is a big time donor (bag man) and he was at a barbecue with David Johnson a week and a half ago, he's scared as shit. They own a land moving company and are rich as hell but they're right there outside of Oxford. At some point old people have a reckoning with reality when someone they know gets it. It shows them that their money doesn't protect them from death and they are more susceptible to succumbing to it than others. These people aren't wall street executives or hedge fund managers, they're CEO's of chicken farms and retired lumber yard owners. They love money and will abuse the use of migrant workers in their factories and plants but they're on the ground with this. They see it every day. They're not up holed up in their penthouse or on their private island watching the news, they live in mansions outside of college towns and farming communities. They build houses for their children and grandchildren to live next to them. Its real to them and "if a good guy like David can get it, its coming for me." This is what will happen across the south eventually. Even the most wealthy conservatives will know someone who died from it and realize its real and they're not immune to it. Their money won't protect them. As my Grandfather who was born and raised in Seminary, Mississippi always says "You never see a hearse followed by a Uhaul."
What’s meaningful about the denominator? If 300 million people get it and 20 million go to the hospital and 2 million people die, or if 100 million people get it and 20 million go to the hospital and 2 million people die- how is the effect different?
None yet, unfortunately. Really good guy. His VP is concerned he may have had a stroke or similar because he has had blood clotting issues in his past.
Surprised those pharmacists couldn't tell those scripts were sketchy before filling. NC and SC now requiring diagnosis codes for every hydroxychloroquine script.
I was just asked to draft a 1 pager for a client ASAP for the relief bill. It is 880 pages, contains 2 trillion in spending, and was passed late last night. Ha.
So one of my girlfriends patients she saw yesterday has Coronavirus. How fucked is she and how fucked am I?
Unless they backtrack, all Catholic dioceses in Ohio are shut down through Easter and will not have services.
I don’t know the current process for NZ. Back in the 80s foreigners had to give the NZ government $50,000 to be allowed to move there.
I just found a full bottle of hand sanitizer under our bed. My wife is doing a skype call with all of her co-workers and I handed it to her and she showed her coworkers. Immediately one of them said they'd pay us $50 for it. We have a few so I may tulip mania this thing. Spoiler Not really, I'm going to give it to my neighbor across the street who is 70 and I buy groceries for
I’m ok- I’m playing it safe and isolating still but I THINK I just have a cold. No fever and my cough is phloegmy lol
woke up at 3am convinced i had it because i couldnt smell or taste anything. turns out it was just the middle of the night and i didnt actively need to smell or taste anything. i survived another coronavirus bout
The lengths people go to be obtuse on this board is insane. The number of people who are going to get it isn’t the number in question, it’s how many will die. Fuck. Accurate death rate = better understanding of how many people will die
That's absolutely incredible and an absolute shit ton of money donated by an athlete. Has any corporation even donated that much to their local state/communities?
