Heads up I have a mini vacation planned, out of town, flying, etc in mid October so we can all expect that to be the peak worst time for Covid’s comeback.
It's my understanding working with a biker veteran for some years that, at least among his community, they're very social and very much look put for each other and they told him pretty forwardly that they've had people in the group and family die so they were enthusiastic about the vaccine. That SAID, sturgis attracts all manner of actual bikers, as well as all manner of posers who want to be weekend warriors so they can pretend to be roughnecks or whatever. Hard to tell, plus factor in it being South Dakota, one of the consistently worst performing states and the event lasting SEVERAL infection cycles....eek
As these numbers keep rising and rising, and as the thought of my under 12 year olds go back to school, I’m getting perilously close to having the opinion - if they aren’t vaccinated, don’t treat them. These pieces of shit don’t deserve it. Buddy’s wife is a covid nurse and she says it’s worse now than ever Bc there’s a shot and she hates that she doesn’t feel remorse. Obviously, a rare feeling for nurses who tend to be the most sympathetic people on the planet. The mental toll of healthcare workers post vaccine is staggering.
A guy I know is a huge anti vaccine chud yet has done steroids for years. I want to comment on the shit he posts “So you’re cool with injecting yourself with black market steroids made in a Russian bathtub from some guy you met at a gym, but the vaccine is just too risky?”
They really shouldn’t. If you’re over 18 and unvaccinated then you shouldn’t be allowed medical care for covid. Insurance shouldn’t cover the medical expenses if they are treated
People there will be snorting god knows what in bathroom stalls, but fuck man who even knows what’s in that damn vaccine?
My brother just sent me a link for a go fund me for a married couple we know that are both in the hospital now. Husband is in ICU in critical condition.
well at least she’s not a anti-vaxxer? I always tell my dad Trump was is such a fucking coward because he wanted to keep the economy open but couldn’t handle the blood on his hands. Even Bethany has more balls than that coward.
Red lights are a thing. Doesn’t mean we should shut down traffic for over a minute. Life has to go on and sometimes there’s tragic results. Thankfully we now have seat belts.
I have no fucking idea how desantis's logic about masks undermining vaccines makes any sense. Its just incredibly cynical gamesmanship to make it sound like "actually its the (nebulous conception of) dems who are dumb and anti-science," but at least i could pull the thread a little bit and see a poorly-conceived reason/grievance for it. This is just a really petty way of trying to avoid responsibility for his garbage decisions
Shit talking all the way to the grave. I feel so bad for family members who have to be humiliated that your family died as a complete embarrassment.
I’m expecting my employeR, which is owned by the local hospital system, to announce it sometime soon. We’re the second largest employer in the city and have hospitals and outpatient facilities throughout Central VA.
ive noticed two consistent things with Desantis. 1) creating fake problems and "solving" them and 2) never, ever admitting something is wrong in florida when it comes to real problems. He thinks thats the best way to hide and pretend everything is great. It's the Trump "dont let the cruise ships dock or it will hurt my numbers" mindset. Whether it's dead fish in Tampa or decaying buildings or covid spikes.....he pretends there arent real problems so that his followers assume everything is good. Edit, just to mention a few solved fake problems: -vaccine passports -trans kids playing sports -running over protesters with your car if you fear for your safety or whatever stupid shit that is -his ridiculous conservative social media law -outlawing local mask mandates -suing the CDC over cruise lines (was reversed) -moment of silence during pledge of allegiance in schools
That dude has an insta and kept updating it with screenshots of his tweets, long blocks and texts, and long captions. It's really sad to read. He never fully understood that he was never powerless to avoid this.
My employer, Trinity Health, which has over 120k employees in 23 states mandated that all employees will be vaccinated or they will be terminated by Mid September. My directors think all health organizations will eventually mandate it, most just didn’t want to be the first. Now those dominos are starting to fall. So all the dummies that think “they matter” and will take a stand against healthcare….won’t be able to find a job in the field as that will eventually be the standard.
Someone asked about published breakthrough data. I think that "of the vaxxed population" may be sloppy language but its still not too shabby
