And the dogs are safe. I was mostly worried about ours. She’s 4 but she went through gnarly heartworm treatment the first 4 months we had her so I have always assumed that she’s more susceptible to further illness than other dogs.
I was sent an email at work that referred to me as essential personnel. No wonder our stock is in the tank.
This is ridiculous. I called urgent care and they "suggested I stay home and self quarantine." I responded I've been doing that but the state health department yesterday suggested that I go get checked for strepp / flu etc. They responded that I should just stay home or go to the ER. At this point I responded back "are you saying that you are refusing me care? I need to know because my next step is to call back to the state health department and I need to be accurate with what I report." We go round and round. Long story less long they then agreed that I should come in but put me on hold "because we haven't really talked about anything like this before." Wtfh. So now I'm going in, they will have a nurse in the parking lot with a mask. This whole thing better just be panic because it's a gong show down here.
i feel fine and would like to go home for the day but through a various series of mishaps completely out of my control, am currently at 22 mins of sick time left for the year and have to ration that
I work for the biggest health system in the country. Talk all week was that we should expect to be working from home by today. Our CEO met with Trump Wednesday, and now that’s not happening, and we got a long ass “everything is fine and we’re doing great” email from him last night. Fucking fuck, man.
Yep. Cut our trip short (shouldn’t have gone to begin with, but whatever) and are headed home. Think we would have been OK, but I have other concerns. I’m concerned with panic setting in and no food availability, along with others acting irrationally. That and not being able to get back if things grind to a halt as quickly as yesterday escalated. Plus we appear to have finalized our work from home plans. So I need to roll that out to 20 peeps.
I work in logistics and we have had absolutely zero discussion about anything. We have no strategy, no plan, no nothing. Shit is going to hit us right in the mouth and then we will panic and scramble.
Just getting off my shift, about to use the hospital shower. Spoke with my charge RN, the amount of rule-out Covid-19 in our hospital doubled over night
Scream it from the rooftops, these assholes are going to be responsible for deaths, and they must be held accountable for that.
My buddy in logistics is in the same boat. He's over 20 states but they're locations are in small market cities. They're basically doing nothing. When I say they're doing nothing, I mean like flat out nothing. No communication has even gone out. It's a huge retail company.
Feeling pretty happy about stocking up on bourbon for months obviously very obviously for this and no other reason
Same thing happening with my wife's bank. She came in today and expressed her concerns (she's their Information Security Officer) they said they're going to be BAU until they're forced to institute some type of remote work plans or close. Mind blowing.
We pick up and ship anywhere east of I-35 all the way to the east coast. Have 50 company drivers as well as a brokerage division. Zero has been said. I'm just going to wait on the dam to break and then I am going home and staying there.
I work in digital education, K-12 world, and we are about to get too busy to handle it all. Literally, we are EdTech but don't have the capacity to even handle all users live from our existing customers. Let alone emergency adds from other desperate school systems. Fun times
Somebody give me the names of some Congressmen/women who get shit done. We're going to need these people behind a podium every day letting people know what's going on and assuring the American people.
Our whole university has told faculty to "teach online" til April 3. So far it's still spring break but when people start actually all trying to do it I feel like shit is gonna hit the fan
