Guessing Moderna is fully available as a booster now. My PCP practice just sent out an email saying you can get a Pfizer or Moderna booster.
Update - woke up at 1:30 sweating but freezing. Could not fall asleep again until at least 4. Felt fine at 7 when kids got up but man, my arm is wrekt. Hurts so bad Really felt just like a minor hangover after initial j&J. All in all 11/10. Would boost again
So this was only your second shot right? How long ago did you get your initial one-dose J&J shot? I was shocked that I didn't feel quite this bad after the Moderna half dose booster given that I did feel shitty after #2 and I definitely got expose (although never tested positive) and likely drove up my antibody levels when my MIL and Wife had a breakthrough in our house a couple months ago as well as our 4 year old getting it at the same time. My arm was definitely more sore than the second shot though so I know it had to be working well.
That response is good from what I understand. That means your body has some immunity still from the first shot. I had my second shot in January and was pleased my booster a few weeks ago drew the strongest response of the 3 from me

Phew, just in time for the winter surge Wow apparently labelling it endemic doesnt make it less worrisome

Daughter had to quarantine from school because a kid in her class got it. Today she had a 102 fever and throwing up, bad cough, eye gunk. She's got it. Im vaxxed and am starting to feel like shit so I almost assuredly have it. Wife is vaxxed and had her Pfizer booster last Monday and I bet she has it too. 18 month old son has a cough. Really worried about him because he was a premature baby Shits just extra infuriating since we thought we were doing everything right
Woo buddy this boostie hits hard. Arm is extremely sore and my body mutts feels like I worked out really hard for the first time in a very long time
Had mine two and a half weeks ago, and it absolutely kicked my ass, probably as much if not more than the second. Muscle aches, mild chills, then fatigue. Took Tylenol and a nap in the afternoon and it ended up getting better.
Yep. Checked the time on my post but I’m fine now. Arm is still sore but everything else now is gone. Took some Tylenol like you said and laid down and just woke back up and I’m fine.
So I posted that at 7am and I’d been up since maybe 5:30ish feeling like crap so really it lasted less than a few hours. I just got up and drank a ton of Gatorade and water and took some Tylenol and made myself go lay back down. My 1st and 2nd doses were nothing, but I got really drunk and high and just knocked myself out so I may have just blurred through any crap feeling. I didn’t do that this time.
It's been over 24 hours post-booster and all I got is a really sore arm. More sore than most vaccines but not something unbearable by any means.
Yeah I felt like I’d done a full body workout after not working out for a long time if that makes sense. All good now and grilling out watching football
texas nazis seem not to have been closely following israel's vaccine data Delta spread in a closed system, naval ship https://academic.oup.com/jtm/advance-article/doi/10.1093/jtm/taab168/6404468
Walensky said she doesn’t anticipate the spread of the new subvariant resulting in a ban on travel from Europe. “We’re not anticipating that now. We are absolutely following the science very very carefully, but we’re not anticipating or looking into that right now,” she said. Lmao dope
I don't think there's any evidence that this new variant will have.more fitness than Delta. It's not outcompeting Delta in the US.
Aren't there just 2 cases in the US right now? I think it's way too early to talk about its fitness. I'm basing this on absolutely zero knowledge, though
Dr. Topol discusses it here. Not enough evidence but the UK != US and also have the AstraZeneca vaccine which has been shown to have more antibody wading than even Pfizer.
6 samples from symptomatic patients had negative PCR data, with confirmation of the presence of AY33 ("subvariant" of Delta) by sequencing. This can happen, due to an alteration in the detection of the target in the sample due to mutations present in the genetic material But also
Got the moderna booster Saturday . Achy and generally lethargic. My fingers were sore, which happened with my second. BUT it only lasted a few hours, and I’m all good now. #mafia
Wife got pfizer booster this past Friday. She only had very mild headache for first two shots.....but this booster kicked her ass. Headache, 100.5 fever, chills (was under like 5 blankets at one points), body aches, and very bad nausea the entire next day saturday. Even now, 72 hours later, she still isn't 100%. She had to take tylenol to be able to go to work this morning. She is pretty tough in general and downplays all illnesses...but she was pretty pitiful for about 24 hours there.
How long ago was her last shot? My wife just got hers last Friday and I'm getting mine this Friday. We are both at about 8 months since last shot. She felt pretty shitty after the second shot but the booster wasn't too bad for her at all she said.
