Wohoo, we are 1 shot in! Mom said he watched the doc give the shot and only made the slightest noise.
We had a July 4th bbq with neighbors at my house. Everyone stayed mostly inside because it was so hot. There were six 70+ year olds in attendance (amongst other younger people). One of the septuagenarians tested positive this morning. Mfing superspreader event at the jbr house.
My three-year-old got his first shot Tuesday. Went to his first baseball game with grandpa on Wednesday. He’s fully boosted and I think had the next old-people dose scheduled. Friday morning he called and said he started feeling bad Thursday and tested positive on Friday morning. We tested and just my son was positive. He felt fine then started fever and throwing up. He was back to feeling fine with no fever just in time for me to test positive Monday morning. Cough and some sniffles. Everything now tastes like I’m eating la croix. I can barely get some hints of taste. And it’s my birthday. And my wife’s birthday. We’re adorable like that. She’s sick but hasn’t retested because it’s fairly obvious.
Also spent the weekend with family. Got a call yesterday that a woman there had COVID. My wife is sick today. I have no symptoms so far.
That’s how it started with us. Kid tested positive first then both the wife and I on Sunday. Super lethargic. It’s hard not to go to sleep
Yep, one year apart. I generally feel fine, except when the coughing fits kick in. That wrecks my throat for a while. Wife has basically been asleep around the clock the last few days.
We’re dripping like flies boys, hit me hard for 48 hours Friday-Sunday but since Sunday afternoon I been feeling good and bored af in my house I’m on day 5 now so I’m hoping I’m negative by the weekend Wifey feels like ass with congestion but my 2.5 year old is still negative so we are masked up in the house 247 and trying to keep him outside on the backyard as much as we can
Interesting bit on plumbing in high-density housing in shanghai and how lockdowns in such settings are becoming less effective because of aerosols coming back up the pipes and also jfc thats gross even without covid
For the at home tests are they not useable after the expiration date? I ordered the free tests from USPS but they expire in mid August. I ordered them to save them for later in the year before going on a few trips and holiday stuff. If they’re not good after the exp date I’ll just test a couple times a week or give them to family/friends that need them.
Yeah I know that, I was just surprised when the ones that were delivered last week expired in mid August. I thought I’d be getting ones that wouldn’t expire until late in the year so I don’t want these going to waste.
It's not 8/month, for the record. It's a one-time thing. I just tried to get another box this morning and I can't since I've already requested my 8.
I had stockpiled all mine and had accumulated like 12 of them but now with Covid hitting the house, I'm down to 2. Cool beans. I'd like to find out if I'm negative so I can be a functioning human again, but alas, I need to ration the damn things. Luckily extended family has extras they can drop off if we get desperate.
Yeah I know, but trying to avoid spreading covid if I can, plus it's dumb as hell we have to pay $20/box when they should be handing them out on street corners for free.
I think you can get three orders total per household, regardless of when you started ordering them from USPS. https://faq.usps.com/s/article/At-Home-COVID-19-Test-Kits
One of our summer clerks is symptomatic. I spent all day with him Thursday and had lunch with him Friday. I’m testing now.
Yes. December 2020 and it was very mild. I’m now vaxxed and twice boosted, so I’m really only worried about inconvenience.
I'm reading this new variant is the worst we've seen. Have yet to test positive and seems that might be extremely hard to sustain with this one
I do not believe this to be accurate Shitty flu symptoms for most for a bit do not compare to hospital overflows and massive death tolls
Not sure why I made an unhealthy delicious breakfast for myself, can’t taste it anyway. I know it’s all over the place but those who have had covid recently and lost taste how long till it came back?
My father is still testing positive 5 days from his first test. Mother remains negative. How likely is it she had it it first and was asymptomatic? Would have expected her to be positive by now. Second question, supposed to have family visit us Sunday. What’s the guidance here? Is he fine to be around us as soon as he tests negative?
i would probably have him sit this one out just to be safe and has your dad been masking indoors around your mom ? My son has been negative too but we are masking 247 inside with him
I’m still positive on day 7 very faint line now but still positive but felt completely fine since day 2, now I’m just positive with boredom
Wife has it and is miserable - myself and the gf never got any symptoms and each have two negative tests since the 4th. She's already had it twice prior. First time we were both basically dead for a week - second time was nothing. She's getting rocked with the current batch though - not hospital level but definitely miserable.
