Gotta read this thread
This also happened in Arkansas over the weekend and made me laugh
Naw playa, thats not anywhere close to where I live.
wait, this was real? $100 fine or 30 days in jail when a ton of people who live paycheck to paycheck have been laid off is pretty fucked up
thats some qualified captain shit
first thing I'd do upon a return to normalcy: hop on a train and go get a burrito
edit holy shit that truck in the water thing is amazing lol
The influencer grift never sleeps
So everyone non essential can still go to work? lol
Guys you know I HATE to advertise at a time like this HOWEVER
not being an expert on anything Arkansas, but that doesn’t seem ideal.
I was totally waiting for him to hop off the end there and wrap his arm around the tailgate and try to tug the thing back to shore.
Lol no thx
The gif selection is quite choice, but also lmao:
You aren’t invited shitbird
I wonder if Anthony Fauci actually goes by Tony, or Trump is just an asshole and calls him that.
The deaths don’t generally lie on this one but it is really odd there.
I’m keeping tabs on the Scandinavian countries as they’re broadly the same size as us in Ireland and people generally talk about them being best practice. But in reality the Swedes have been the most lax on this one and whilst their case and death rate is the worst of them, they aren’t doing very badly on it by just implementing targeted measures rather than outright ones. A lot of their key metrics (death rate growth, cases rate growth) have declined in recent days so they seem to have been quite successful in flattening it.
Denmark is the one I really watch for as they had their first positive case the same day as us and implemented restrictions on the same day, though theirs varied slightly (more strict on travel). We’ve matched a lot of their numbers but tested more people earlier than them. We were testing a lot at the start but slowed down due to chemical shortages and whilst they are still behind per head of population, they are catching up. We have more cases then them but testing would a lot of that difference. Our ICU and death rates are remarkably similar. We have very similar capacity in terms of healthcare as well. I take heart from this as they are planning to ease some restrictions next week.
Finland though baffles me a bit. I would say they aren’t testing a lot (as they seem to be a good bit behind there) so aren’t catching cases but the death rates don’t lie really and theirs are so low. Their case growth has been really low daily (maybe testing related) but there’s been an uptick today. Maybe it just didn’t spread there as early as other Scandinavian countries in terms of networks? It becomes head melting when you consider they had their first case in late January and the infectious level of the disease and what we are now understanding about asymptotic cases. I’d really love to know how they’re doing so well on the deaths front.
like Calipari always referring to Tom Crean as Tommy lol
This press rally is infuriating...
-lies about approval of job he is doing by Governors
-lies about us having more cases because we have done more testing than anyone else, and demonstrates this with chart that only shows total tests given cumulatively.
-advertises multiple companies
-claims we have the most accurate tests
That video that was posted the other day said that Finland may be an example of a country that has a cultural advantage in preventing deaths, IF the use of Finnish saunas coupled with cold exposure actually works in boosting immunity.
I assume Arkansas is either a swamp or a barren windswept plain unfit for civilization
This time last week i was hate watching every press conference. I feel much better now putting money heist on instead and just getting tweet updates
We are all pinning our hopes on the BCG vaccine now as our saviour here, though tbh, our case levels are quite high.
That’s East Arkansas aka Mississippi. We don’t claim that
I just keep it on mute until the questions start. The rest is just BS
Person suspected of being positive for COVID-19, host house part in Russellville
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (News release) — The COVID-19 virus is a serious enough issue to be deemed a global pandemic and has caused tens of thousands of deaths worldwide. This virus is very contagious and it is imperative that the citizens of Pope County and Russellville, AR take this issue seriously.
There are instances in our community that demonstrate a lack of appreciation for the seriousness of the virus and the protective measures that have been put in place to safeguard the public.
Over the weekend, a party was held at a residence within the city limits of Russellville in which an individual under quarantine for suspected COVID-19 resided. This individual has since been confirmed positive. A disregard for the welfare of others in a situation of this type cannot be underestimated. The Arkansas Department of Health will be conducting an investigation and will be contacting those known to be in attendance and direct them as to the appropriate measures that must be taken to protect themselves and the public from the spread of the virus.
It is important for those who attended a party of this type to confirm with the host whether anyone in at the party has been under quarantine or identified as COVID-19 positive. If you did attend this type of get together, please contact the Arkansas Department of Health at 1-800-803-7847.
The Governor of Arkansas has issued a directive banning congregations of 10 or more people, it is expected that individuals in our community will adhere to this guidance. The spread of the COVID-19 virus in our community can only be constrained if we take the appropriate actions to prevent spread.
Trump getting nasty with a female reporter now and lying about testing. She referenced an inspector general report, and now he is making fun of inspector generals.
He is currently being a dick to a female reporter
Now he is being a dick to a different female reporter
Turn it off
I can’t. I want to know, so I can correct his lies to people I know who aren’t paying attention.
Trump blamed an Inspector General for being partisan b/c he sent out a survey and posted the results. He was appointed by Bush in 2004.
In 1970 the people in Oregon destroyed a rotting whale carcass using dynamite and in 2020 our president is a rotting whale carcass trying to destroy the country, seems fair.
Point is you can get more accurate information elsewhere. If it’s truly causing you stress and angering you over and over, remove the source (at least buffer yourself) and inform yourselves after he’s done.
I think this every time I pass the McDonalds by campus and there is a huge line at the drive thru. If there was one spot in town that would still neglect hand washing and gloves it would be that restaurant.
Closest I’ll get to civilization is grabbing food from here once a week to support local
that's called uh *checks calendar* ..right, Monday.
I don’t think many are watching his briefings nightly who aren’t paying attention. They may be blinded to the facts by their personal political bias but anyone watching the briefings at this point is paying attention. I stopped about a week ago. I get the quotes on Twitter. I am happier since I stopped watching them.
Please feel free to share them all. Little Rock is the worst. Fuck central Arkansas, yeah I said it. Looking at you Conway and Russellville too
I don’t watch this for accuracy. I watch it to know what the narrative is. It stresses me at times, but I still feel compelled to hear what he is trying to push everyone to believe.
Any mention of any IG gets him so worked up.
I'm back to being more than normal. Great normal. Just amazing normal really.
It sucks that these reporters don’t have the proper research done when they ask the questions. It fucking makes him look good. Knowing the name of the IG and who appointed her should be known when asking the questions regarding her.
