It shouldn’t be important who appointed them, people can do their jobs without having to be accused of bias due to their party affiliation. By that standards nobody can work in government on any level if they aren’t the same party as the President in power. That’s a trump narrative.
Aside from the asshole parts, that chart is something else. An amazingly smooth trend. I'd like to see the data used to populate it, as it doesn't match up with other sources.
that’s not my point. My point is not having the answers makes them look unprepared and makes him look better than he should.
Slow to ramp up testing, NW & SE corners being impacted by Chicago & Cincinnati, state is run by Pence's handpicked successor.
My mother voted for Trump but when I talked to her a couple weeks ago about it, she said she doesn’t watch his press conference “because he’s dumb and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. It’s not helpful.” Between that and her asking me about Bernie, Buttgieg and Biden in January I think she’s completely off the train.
My optimism is growing https://www.politico.com/states/cal...entilators-back-to-national-stockpile-1272393 California sends 500 ventilators to stockpile and NYC, confident it won’t need them
the governor of arkansas was just on npr his rationale for not issuing a stay at home order is that it's pointless if people are still going to work
I hope the positive news doesn’t cause too many people to be more lax. Some will, but I think most won’t.
We’re gonna have college football baby, I can feel it in my bones. Feels like we were talking seriously about 2M not two weeks ago
New projections are around 80,000 by August, Cali loaning out 500 ventilators because they’re confident they won’t need them
I have decided im staying home from events till there is a solution. Whether that's a vaccine or medication.
While true and morbid, not really relevant to my post. He asked what the good news was. Continuously revised down models and states signaling confidence is objectively good news. We haven’t had a lot to celebrate the last month or so.
Not that football is that important anyway but if it happens it means there's some measure of containment to this
isn’t that the same woman who interviewed the other doctor who had negative things to say a few days ago? Is she trying to get herself killed!?
do you have links to this stuff, more specifically the projections? Not as surprised about the Cali stuff because Cali was further ahead of the curve than most states, especially in the Bay Area. I’m kind of skeptical about projections because a) I’m a pessimist b) the carelessness in the South is weeks from really showing and c) the fall could easily see wave 2 if this acts like the flu and other viruses. I hope to hell things go well, but all it takes is a little complancency to fuck things up further.
I know the thread pointed it out repeatedly, but they weren't stuck at all. They could have left at any time. If you're in a rental home and want to ride out a quarantine here, then you do you. But by the looks of those pics, that's not the case. Right now I'm a citizen and can't go near the beach (rightfully so) and they're sipping drinks and frolicking. They deserve to get ripped.
Trump attacked Obama's response to H1N1 today. He wants politicians to stop playing politics though. What a hypocrite
All it takes is for it to be raging in one state to shut everything down. The response in each state has been so uneven and I feel this is one of those things where you're only as fast as your slowest horse
I think college football with fans is the last thing to come back. Amateur athletics in big stadiums seems to be the final frontier. If we get to that point, than we’re in good shape. without fans there are still a lot of hurdles to be cleared.
Saw it on TV, the Cali stuff is in the Politico article I posted above. Of course it’s not definitive, I feel like we need another month of trend to figure out how it’s really gonna go but here’s to hoping!
Then you have miss England quitting her humanitarian duties and going back to being a doctor back at home. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/06/uk/miss-england-coronavirus-doctor-scli-intl-gbr/index.html
