There appears to be a significant number of debilitatingly stupid people, most of whom chalk themselves up to be master researchers.
Someone I know with a decent social media following is one of those holistic medicine types that has been blasting anti vax/Covid is overblown shit on their Instagram account. An unfortunate development was that she got Covid and had a very mild case, just lost her sense of smell, which she used to bolster her rhetoric. I couldn’t take it anymore and sent her a link to the Twitter account of a local epidemiologist that we know, as in went to school with his kids. Fortunately she hasn’t said shit about Covid since and I’m hoping that made her reconsider her stance.
He’s an absolute fucking moron. IT ISN’T ABOUT YOU, FUCKSTICK! “iM gUnNa LiVe My LiFe” - absolute moron and piece of shit Cole Beasley infecting as many people as possible and not giving a single fucking shit if it kills anyone
Like, is it wrong to hope that those who are eligible that willingly deny a vaccine die from the disease (swiftly so they have less chance to expose and kill others)?
Some real contradiction going on here with what the county is trying to do and the moronic opinions of several bills.
It’s amazing how many people say “I’m entitled to my opinion” and actually mean “I can do whatever I want without consequences.”
Ok yeah that’s not an allergic reaction. That’s you being sensitive to needles and getting scared. It’s called vasovagal syncope. I’m guessing your blood pressure actually dropped.
I’ve got this as well. I passed out even before I got to donate blood, when they pricked my thumb to test my iron. I wake up with a juice box and a wet towel on my neck.
I had it as a kid. I would have a panic attack and wake up on the floor with mom/dad/teacher looking over me. mine came on very fast. Couldn’t get sat down quick enough once and cracked my head pretty good. I had to take old man blood pressure meds for a few years. Grew out of it. a stress test can trigger the reaction which led to my diagnosis. AMA
Some what similarly I was getting an MRI done and the nurse was trying to put an IV in and missed my vein three times. All the sudden I started to lose my vision and got super sweaty. Woke up to paramedics putting me onto a gurney and taken to the hospital.
Are we even going to actually hit 60%? We aren’t going to get through to the Fox News/anti-vaccine idiots. Time to focus the entire strategy on minority communities and working with whoever they need to work with to make that happen.
This is and has always been a bad take. You can't separate schadenfreude from reality in a public health disaster.
Was prepared to drop in on a bar that I hit with some frequency in normal times and noticed they had posted some bullshit sign on their door about being unable to ask for vax status based on HIPAA and it has me feeling some kinda way. To be clear, I have patronized places throughout this shit outside and I've started to return to places inside that have no such signage and no reasonable expectation of any kind of entrance "screening"... But a sign like that seems like a fucking advertisement designed to coddle anti-vax goons. "Come on in!" Smdh
I know plenty of people are still being vaccinated but I’m always confused when I hear someone just went or is going soon. What were you waiting on?
I see a world where variants start attacking an American population because only 67% of people have at least one dose, fewer second doses. Then the right will blame President Biden.
You know, I’m gonna leave it for posterity. Not at all because I can barely stand to enter the CWS thread anymore because of feelings
Been second dosed since early January and this baby is still going strong! Life has been back to normal (relatively) since Feb. Hoping that the UK corridor opens soon since we have a honeymoon booked in July… I could dwell on the # of idiots that won’t get the shot but really that’s what they want. I have to hope natural selection runs its course. It’s amazing the number of nurses and techs in Arkansas that won’t get it. I’ve seen more covid X-rays the past three weeks than I have since early March. I do wonder when I’ll need a booster though. I like to think constant re-inoculation from the local populace serves as a nice mini boost. I think the history books will look back on how historically great the two mRNA vaccines are. I feel completely comfortable maskless anywhere and I’m as liberal as they come. I still follow regulations but I’ve had enough maskless time to know that the Pfamily is strong. Not going to shame anybody for being cautious but the mRNA vaccines at least are pretty stout
What I don’t get about the “wait and see” crowd (ok I do get it they’re stupid I’m just bitching) is you’ve waited and saw, 600 total breakthrough deaths in vaccinated folks (vs idk probably legit 800,000 deaths in non vax’d if we were counting properly since day 1) with a microscopic amount of serious side effects cases. I’d love to know what they think the vaccine would do to you in month 6 that it didn’t do on day 6 in a negative way.
We invited workers from four of the big hospitals out here in LA to come to the F9 premiere last Friday. The only requirement they needed was to be vaccinated and bring their Vac card to be verified by the Covid officer. One lady brought some paper that had nothing to do with a vaccine but it showed all her vitals were fine or some shit. So unfortunately she could not get in and threw a huge fit in front of everyone. Calling people idiots and how she is going to remember all of our faces if we ever come to the hospital and she’s not going to help us. It’s sad that this unvaccinated cunt is allowed to work in a hospital, be unvaccinated and threaten to not help people who come to her hospital that she has problems with when she’s off the clock.
