This has nothing to do with small businesses. Because if it did, they’d be tweeting or yelling about the Senate who did not even debate the House’s relief bill. Instead, it is just about Matty wanting to eat out
Freedom dude! Don't tread on me! I suppose it was only a matter of time before the US was exposed for our collective stupidity and selfishness. It's still been incredibly depressing to watch unfold.
Im so envious that you dont have to know who Ted Cruz is. He's a Senator from Texas. And a very big shit stain He was born in Canada tho, so Im blaming you
“Rafael Edward Cruz was born on December 22, 1970,[1][2] at Foothills Medical Centre[3][4] in Calgary, Alberta.” From one Texas to an other.
Also theres a better than not chance that he is the Zodiac killer and his father was also the man who killed JFK.
And from what I’ve read, 70% isn’t herd immunity and is a probable unrealistic expectation with all the anti vaxxing idiots in this country
So 30mil per month * 5 months is 150 mil, plus 20 mil gets us to 170, which is about 50% of the pop. Maybe they're counting everyone who caught it and recovered?
Yeah that adds up to 182M or 55% of the country. Now if they think that 49M more will get covid by May then their math checks out. But that would be really impressive (and sad).
Is it eligible population since kids are excluded from current vaccine due to no trials being done on the lower age groups? So 70% of 18+
If you think cases are 5x reported thats 60 mil. 60+20 in December plus 150 Jan-May that’s 230 mil. 70%
Those numbers are from the Trump admin, do you think they are admitting that 5x the cases are going undetected?
It's clearly a lot more with the shitty testing regime at the start and still missing some. There was what, 20m estimated by the CDC by the end of June...conservative estimate now would be 30m given you've added nearly 10m official cases since then.
Not sure what their measure of success is but I would say less than half the amount of last year is good.
Some accidental social commentary there that the only people being responsible during a pandemic are on the left
i am a bit disappointed. the weird lack of dose response has me miffed. i would have thought this vaccine would perform better than the mRNA ones.
Yeah, I was all beside myself about the mRNA comp too. Spoiler: Spoiler I have no idea what I’m doing.
Has anyone seen anything yet about the distribution of the vaccine? Just going to sign up with your PCP kind of thing?
My ignorant thought is that these all are probably going to be equally protective though, the efficacy data is obviously doesn't exactly mean effectiveness.
Need some advice. So, my grandmother is not going to pull through after having COVID. We are providing her hospice care right now. The hospital is allowing two visitors in her room only and there is a 24 hour period where you have to wait to go see her again. How dumb am I for wanting to see her? I'm almost certain I had COVID since I was sick the same time she was, my mom was who had COVID, and my cousin who had it as well. I know virus change their RNA so I may not be "immune" to it. Basically, if your grandmother was on her death bed and she had COVID, would you guys go see her one last time?
Speaking from experience, if you have the ability to see her, you should. I'm sure there are precautions hospice can and will take to ensure safety. If you were close to her, this is one of those moments you don't want to regret not having. Just my two cents
I'm sorry you are going through all of this. I would also see her if I could. You will be glad you did
