My wife is a public school teacher so it was only a matter of time. She felt bad yesterday and tested positive. So I’m currently in a drive thru covid test line and dude in front of me is smoking lmbo
Also the lady isn’t sanitizing the little oxygen thing you clip on finger and her mask isn’t covering her nose
I saw a tweet that Fauci says it might be time for universal mask mandate and I want to fucking scream. He’s been neutered by a fatboy who got COVID, was on oxygen and is the god damn president.
Numbers are gonna be really bad again today. We set a new state record, beating the old one by almost 50%.
we're already at 59k without 16 states reported and that includes Texas and Cali. we're breaking another record on a Saturaday
I am shocked that rural blue states like Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine are doing 100x better than rural red states like South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wyoming, amongst others.
If I’m not mistaken that’s how the Spanish flu started racking up death toll. In fact, I think bodies buried in tundra is how they later identified it as h1n1. This things just starting.
Correct. Per capita, more people died in Alaska of the Spanish flu than anywhere else in the world other than Samoa. https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/sci...lage-grave-led-to-a-spanish-flu-breakthrough/
The answer will obviously vary depending on where you live, but is non-mask wearing legitimately that big of an issue? I go out basically everyday and I've never seen someone without a mask where social distancing isn't possible. Literally not once since they started suggesting that we all wear masks. Maybe I'm just lucky and live in a county without idiots?
Yes because it gives people an out to bend the rules. Just read some recent articles about mask wearing on airplanes - it gives people little leverage against selfish assholes. Indiana’s defensive coordinator wore a chin diaper all day despite being told it’s the requirement. We need leadership to stop the selfish behavior.
There’s something about the commonalities of each set of states that I can’t quite put my finger on ...
Dear diary, I work retail as a part time fun gig, have had this job for close to 15 years now. It’s a good company, with scrong leadership over the years and as a retail employer, takes really good care of employees. yesterday was the most people I’ve seen in our store since this began. Luckily I’m in Arizona and right now it’s cooled off (if we’re to trust Doug Doucebag). Either way, employees are concerned. Initially, we didn’t have a mask mandate. Then we did, and employees were sheepish to enforce the rule, instead calling management over to tell guests to pull their masks up or w/e. There’s a fair bit of staff that still don’t want to confront guests, but a lot of coworkers have lost that sheepishness and will call people out. Managers have been fantastic in that regard. Some are idiots looking for confrontation. I essentially ran off two people yesterday who wouldn’t wear their masks correctly. The guy started into medical condition bullshit and I told him that’s too bad but he can shop online. Then he said it wasn’t state mandated so he didn’t have to wear one, to which I responded were a private business. As he got more frustrated his wife pulled down her mask, already only covering her mouth, to address me. Meanwhile he started complaining about how he was treated and said fine I’ll take my business elsewhere and I’ll just go outside and wait for my wife. Then I tell his wife that she needs to pull her mask up. “Well it just slides down! What an I supposed to do?!” “Well ma’am, we sell masks that don’t slide down, or you can crimp the small metal bridge across your nose. Or you could have a free mask that we offer at one of the many sanitation stations across the store. Those are easy solutions to this difficult problem.” At that point she threw her merch on the floor and stormed off. Another guy in early yesterday was again crying about it sliding down. Said he had a respiratory issue and that masks are hard to wear. I told him we have to wear these for 9 hours a day, and constantly beg people to wear their masks correctly. I was surprised when he apologized and it wasn’t an issue for the rest of his experience. We have greeters who tell everyone coming into the store what the rules are. And people still DGAF. I’m glad that coworkers are starting to hit the wall. I don’t mince words and it’s never been a big deal for me, but when 109# Shelly who can’t project her own voice more than 8’ is roasting grown men, it warms my heart a bit. people who shit on retail workers during times like these, especially moving into a worsening situation, and subsequently into the holiday season are top tier scumbags. And it’s only going to get worse at this point. Remember that, you degenerates.
Most of Florida is a complete and total shit show and you risk getting yelled at or made fun of for wearing a mask, not the opposite. Just yesterday I had a contractor in our house measuring to replace some carpet (leak->mold issue, shouldn’t be put off). He very confidently informed me that it was all bullshit because 9 of his friends have had it and it was just a really bad cold. That guy ain’t wearing a mask. At least not until I get him to take the job and then insist on it when he shows up to do the work.
I wasn’t the one who let him in, but he won’t be doing it again. Just not a battle I was going to fight at that exact moment. I’ll have an entire box of masks waiting for he and his crew when they come back.
As a physician in South Dakota l, let me tell you: it’s worse than you can imagine. meanwhile we have a governor on Fox News every other day spiking the football about how amazing the state is handling the virus. we have state legislators on social media completely misrepresenting data claiming masks cause cases.
I knew you were a doctor but i didn’t realize you are in South Dakota. The governors mid-hot spot victory lap is disgusting. Even deathsantis waited until there was a lull in cases to spike the football. Spiking when positivity rate is in the 30s is some hitler level mass genocide shit.
So the R's about to get hit the hardest 9 days till live voting? Everyone needs to take as many precautions as possible when voting around these goons because a lot of them will show up to the polls sick as fuck
The department of health website hospital bed availability is fucking criminal. Last week they said my hospital’s ICU occupancy was at 50%, meanwhile we were at 105% of an already extended capacity. She keeps touting the fact we have all this bed availability, meanwhile none of the major healthcare centers are accepting outside transfers because they are full and we are all operating at near capacity and shortened staff (due to all of us getting Covid slowly).
I cannot imagine the blind rage I would fly into if someone made fun of me for wearing a mask to my goddamn face.
My wife and I were talking about mask wearing the other day when we saw an older man with a Trump hat on and an American flag mask. Whatever, dude was wearing a mask so that’s a great thing. How much money did our grifting ass president lose by not jumping on the mask bandwagon and selling official Trump masks at $25 a pop? I mean, people would have been buying the fuck out of them just to own the libs and be able to wear an official Trump mask. He could have come out to every rally wearing the newest design like an NBA player debuts new shoes and made so much damn money.
It’s insane at that missed grift. People would have went negative in their checking accounts to buy one that he wore. Plus he could have always touted them as “the best”
