We should always trust companies that do studies on their own shit telling you it's completely safe.....
Arkansas isn't testing you unless it's "hard to breathe" because testing is so backed up. They're telling people to come back in 48 hours if symptoms get worse with the respiratory distress before administering a covid test. Great system we got here folks!
I always liked that ol’ AptosDuck. Do they at least say to self-isolate even if you aren’t at that level of symptoms/getting a test? side note: we are hitting 9 million reported cases tomorrow.
Arkansas? Fuck no. They had to shut down a towns schools last week for 2 days not because of the virus but because of the lack of support for teachers and threatening to mass quit. Arkansas is the Dakotas they just aren’t admitting it
I don’t believe this is accurate. At least not statewide. My mother is going to visit my brother this week so she went and got a PCR test as a precaution in Little Rock. No issues and zero symptoms right now. She just wanted to be sure she wasn’t carrying it as she works in health care and does get exposed to Covid positive patients. Not saying what you described isn’t happening, but it wasn’t the experience she had in Little Rock. In Texas I went Friday with zero symptoms and scheduled the test through CVS and went the next morning. It took about 20 mins total and my results came this morning, negative thankfully.
Oh whoops, sorry for the random mention of AptosDuck above, I had a saved draft from last night I guess where I was trying to make an insensitive joke about him passing but, again, insensitive. Sending well wishes to Aptos that you don’t have it.
Anyone here dealt with the loss of taste/smell? When it happens, what is it like? Just nothing? woke up smelling almost rotten eggs/sulfur smell. Has kind of come and gone through out the day. I can still smell things and taste but seems like the sulfur smell is happening more frequently. I’ve tried to immediately taste something or get out something with a distinct smell, but I think I’m trying to harsh of smells. here’s the weird part - and it’s really hard to describe- when it happens, I can almost taste it as well. Not like a gross taste but more like the smell is everywhere in my head. Not like I am eating it and tasting it. More like when you get that metallic taste in your mouth sometimes. just weird that it is coming and going more as the day goes on no other symptoms. Wife and kids are fine
So what's the general consensus on when to get a test after exposure? I'm quarantining obviously. I'm thinking 2-3 days or maybe just quarantine unless symptoms show? Went by my brother yesterday to watch football and was there all day. Today his gf tested positive and she was there the whole time. One of her friends also tested positive.
wait 4-5 days before being tested unless you develop symptoms sooner. No need to get a test if you plan to self isolate for 14 days from yesterday and don't have symptoms.
Depends on where you go. Washington Co is swamped. Go to Benton Co to get tested. Got both of my kids in the next day on Friday and got a rapid test for my son and PCR test for both son and daughter and got results back today (both negative). Washington Regional Urgent Care in Bentonville
I’m just reporting what people at work have said. One in Benton county the other at children’s in Washington.
My cousin has the no taste and smell symptoms. He said he put Vick’s Vaporrub under his nose and couldn’t smell a thing. Every thing that he had had no taste at all. He could only differentiate textures.
My 3 year old had a lot of congestion Sunday, runny nose and coughing with a low fever. I got a rapid test for her and she was negative, she absolutely screamed her head off though.
our pediatrician said is basically telling people "remember you can still get sick without it being covid!" over and over. Like oh yeah colds still exist.
Unknowingly I assume. It seems we rely on people's judgement to not travel with symptoms. There's inherently a higher level of accessible identifiers on record from a flight than there is in the general population. It makes absolutely no sense to me that it isn't used for contact tracing and notification of exposure.
rapid tests have fairly high false negative. if you have covid symptoms keep monitoring and if they get worse go back for PCR test
