right so when people disingenuously talk about mental health because of lockdowns ask them why 25% is a magic number but 17% isn’t.
For a preview of how school opening in SC is going so far. My wife is a preschool teacher at a private school. Her school put out a long COVID policy pamphlet. About as good of procedures as you can have I guess. One policy is all teachers and all students over K5 have to wear masks. My wife's boss told all of her preschool teachers they don't have to wear masks unless they come up to the office where a parent could see them (parents not allowed in the building). So yea, you know that long list of rules your kid's school sent out? They won't actually be following it. Day one of teacher work week (the week before student arrive). 70+ teachers in the gym for a faculty wide meeting- my wife was the only one wearing a mask (including the school nurse not wearing one). The principle said to the faculty "some of you are scared of the virus and you just need to pray". Today they were in a meeting with just their grade faculty. My wife was of course the only one wearing a mask. Her boss sat next to her and put her hand on my wife's shoulder. She then jerked her hand back and said "oh, oops, that probably bothers you doesn't it? You should probably go wash up to be safe". Then all the teachers laughed. We are so fucked.
Jesus, I give it a week before the school has to shut down. Georgia isn't much better, but this kind of right-wing selfishness is why I never considered when my brother and sister thought I should move closer to them in SC. That is really depressing to hear people are laughing at your wife's expense, hope she can get a better job when this is all said and done.
You’re better off just ignoring the text. They’ll realize what they sent us dumb/wrong eventually. But from my experience if you counter, they dig their herd even deeper and create family issues.
"God hasn't kept 160,000+ from dying so far and many outbreaks are linked to churches but I'm sure he'll protect us at school if we pray more."
same for me today had to go to Winter Park/Park Ave in Orlando to pick up dog meds and i'd say maybe 30-40% had masks and half of them had them in their hands and not on just in case they went into a store that required them between that and the heat i've never felt so panicked and just hate so many people for how long this has gone on for
Seahawks Cut Rookie Who Tried To Sneak Woman Into Hotel Dressed As A Player By Bill Galluccio Spoiler August 14, 2020 caught trying to sneak a woman into the team's hotel. Even before the coronavirus pandemic, NFL teams have put strict policies in place to keep visitors away from the players during training camp. Now, visitors pose more of a risk than just a simple distraction. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, surveillance video from the team's hotel captured Siverand trying to sneak the woman into his room. She was reportedly wearing Seahawks gear in an attempt to disguise herself as a player. The plan did not work, and now Siverand is unemployed. The Seahawks did not comment on the suspension. Siverand was an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State and was given a $2,000 signing bonus by the Seahawks. The last player cut for sneaking a woman into his hotel was Deon Long. He was let go by the Rams, and the incident was featured on the 2016 season of Hard Knocks.
to add insult to injury- McMaster is giving 32 millions dollars in public funds to parents to send their kids to private schools run by morons like these.
gotta say, feeling some kind of way following along Mary Louise-Kelly's journey knowing that she, like many of her colleagues, has had such a light touch on fascist ghouls...
I mean, obesity is one of the biggest comorbidities but I'm skeptical that a one day caloric restriction is enough to tip the scales.
if a day of Christian prayer doesn’t fix it, clearly god has forsaken us and we really ought to give this a shot to get back in his good graces
Update: covid truther dad drove one of the kids 10 hours home from Minnesota. Didn’t tell the kids dad he was symptomatic for over 24 hours. The dad is positive, somehow his son came back negative
Dear God please eradicate this virus that You created. We are too dumb to use the marvelous brains that You gave us. Amen.
Thursday was the 18th consecutive day the US had more than 1,000 deaths. The US also reported another 51,000 new cases, according to Johns Hopkins University. California became the first state to top 600,000 cases.
The number of employer liability and D&O claims has been increasing over the last few months. I don't see it slowing down any time soon unless Mitch McConnell gets his precious immunity clause included in the next bill.
Mentioned it in the trumpocalypse thread, but I watched V for Vendetta on Netflix last night. I didn’t remember that a key point explaining how Britain became a fascist state was an American civil war and a virus that killed 80,000 people in England and swung the election. Thinking, “That’s damn unrealistic that people would be concerned about 80,000 dead from a virus.”
Got it. I was just curious because we pulled our 2012 out of AAA this season when it became clear his program was going to operate recklessly.
